Young people who were enthusiastic about the outdoors generally have very outgoing and open personalities, and most of them are extroverted and sociable. Moreover, these young people were all very enthusiastic toward Charlie and Vera, so everyone quickly engaged in lively conversation.
Helron was very influential among this group of people, and it was evident that everyone respected him. Charlie noticed that he didn't seem very old, so he curiously asked him, “Helron, are you a student or already working?”
Helron nodded and said, “I'm still a student. I was studying in the United States before. I'm an Oskian American, and it's summer vacation now, so I wanted to come back to Oskia to hike a little and experience the beauty of our country.”
He continued, “Most of us are university students. Jung, Louie Mant, and I are all studying in the United States. Shermaine and Bobbi are from Queenston University. Perry Hinskey and Jenell Looten are from Blastun University. There are also some who are studying in the United Kingdom and Canada. What about you two?”
Charlie casually replied, “We were high school classmates. During high school, we were too busy dating and didn't study well. As a result, we didn't get into any good universities. Later, we went to a non-score-based private university in Eastcliff for two years but didn't graduate.”
Vera looked at Charlie with resentment and protested inwardly, ‘Dozens up to a hundred degrees that I have obtained over the years were all in vain because of just one sentence from you, Young Master…’
In fact, the reason why Charlie said this was to create a subjective impression that he and Vera were academically poor among these people. Otherwise, if everyone really caught onto the topic of universities and started chatting endlessly, they might easily reveal their true intentions. No matter what university they claimed to have graduated from or studied at, if any of these people knew someone from that university, they might not be able to continue the conversation.
By saying that they dropped out of a non-prestigious university, it would subconsciously give these people the impression that they were somewhat inferior academically. Therefore, they would naturally try to avoid asking too much or bringing up university-related topics, thus avoiding the risk of exposure.
