Charlie didn't expect that while camping in the mountains of Yorkshire Hill, he would encounter two young cancer patients. What surprised him even more was that both of these individuals had wanted to participate in the clinical trials of Apothecary Pharmaceutical in Aurous Hill, but they were both rejected.
What astonished him the most was that this person, Leni, even knew Jameson.
While others were marveling at the fact that Jameson, who once led the entire FDA, had voluntarily resigned and started charity work in Aurous Hill, Charlie curiously asked Leni, “Helron, are you very familiar with Jameson Smith?”
Leni calmly replied, “Not really. After all, before he resigned, he was a high-ranking official in the United States, and the people he interacted with at the FDA were all top-notch biopharmaceutical companies and entrepreneurs worldwide. Someone like Jameson is outstanding even in high society. How could an ordinary person like me have the opportunity to know him?”
Leni then continued, “I actually met him at the registration site of Apothecary Pharmaceutical. He was there with his child, and at first glance, there was nothing special about him. People around him did not recognize him at all. I could recognize him because I studied biological science in the United States. Anyone studying biological science, gene technology, and pharmaceutical chemistry across the United States should know him. After all, he used to be a big shot in our field of specialization.”
Charlie was somewhat surprised and asked, “What's your specialization in biological science? Is it in biomedical research and development?”
Leni nodded and said, “Yes, I specialize in biochemistry. I planned to join pharmaceutical companies after graduation to participate in the research and development of next-generation chemotherapy drugs. Unexpectedly, before the drugs were developed, I became a terminal cancer patient myself.”
Leni chuckled as he spoke, then sighed and said, “This is probably what it means to die before achieving success.”
Shermaine, who was aside, smiled and said, “Everyone has their own destiny. People like us are just passing through, so being happy before we go back is more important than anything else.”
