After thinking it over, Harrison felt that Keith's suggestion was worth a shot.
Keith comforted him, "Relax. As long as you can get rid of the bodies cleanly, you are basically safe. When the truth comes out, from how the Qing Eliminating Society would see it, this case is more about me than you."
"How so?" Harrison asked curiously.
Keith explained, "Think about it. Firstly, I am the organization's enemy. Secondly, Zekeiah is supposedly my son-in-law. Thirdly, the aviation company is my family's asset. If the Qing Eliminating Society finds out that Zekeiah died in the fire, who do you think they would suspect more? You or me?"
Keith's explanation made Harrison heave a sigh of relief.
He covered the microphone and whispered under his breath, "He's right! This matter has more to do with him. I'll just clean the scene and hide all the people involved, and no one will know I was behind this!"
Upon thinking of this, he cleared his throat and lamented, "But this has nothing to do with you at all. How can I let you take the risk? It's not fair."
Harrison feigned a diplomatic and friendly demeanor because he knew that even though they could deceive the Qing Eliminating Society, Keith was fully aware of the inside story. If Keith decided to betray him and reveal the secret one day, the organization might come after him for retribution.
Hence, he had to probe Keith's intentions to see if he was sincere in doing him this favor.
Keith knew exactly what was in Harrison's mind, so he reassured the latter nonchalantly, "The organization and I have long been mortal enemies, sworn to destroy each other. Taking on this bit of risk for you? To be honest, it's like having too many lice to care about. They already want to kill my entire family—what more can they do if they think I killed Zekeiah? They can't kill my family twice, can they?"
Having been a cunning man all his life, Harrison had always been profit-driven. If he could get 10 thousand dollars for a random man to die, he would at least make a wish to reduce the world's population by 99.99%.
