Adrian couldn't hold back anymore.
At this point, he didn't care if he offended Liam.
"Mr. Bancroft! You've crossed the line!"
Liam didn't even have to open his mouth. Sarah expertly tore into Adrian for him.
"Adrian Lowell, your wife gets gang-attacked in front of you, and you just stand there like a coward! Are you even a man?!"
"The second your precious mommy gets pushed, you start barking like a guard dog. But when your own wife gets strangled, you play dead! You think she deserves to be abused?!"
Adrian opened his mouth to shout.
Sarah cut him off.
"And another thing! Your father-in-law is literally dying in the ICU right now! And where are you?! You're down here making heart-eyes at your mistress! Have you no shame?! Do you have no soul at all?!"
"Adrian, you are absolute garbage!"
Adrian's face turned completely purple.
"Sarah! Watch your mouth! Don't think for a second that just because you're a woman, I won't hit you!"
Sarah couldn't care less.
"You're doing the most disgusting, depraved things behind closed doors, and you expect me to be polite?"
She stuck her cheek out.
"Go ahead! Hit me! Let's see how the great Mr. Lowell beats up women!"
Adrian was furious, but he wasn't stupid enough to completely lose his mind.
"I'm not going to stoop to the level of a hysterical woman!"
"Adrian Lowell..."
Sarah didn't finish her sentence. She shot a look at Jocelyn.
Best friends share a brain. Jocelyn knew exactly what Sarah wanted to do.
Jocelyn gave her a subtle nod.
Given the green light, Sarah unleashed the absolute worst of it for the whole room to hear.
"This whole 'I love Arthur so much I want to leave an heir for him, so let's do IVF' is total bullshit!"
Liam looked at Adrian, a mocking half-smile on his face.
"Mr. Lowell, if you don't want Jocelyn anymore, why don't you do the honorable thing and step aside? Let me have her."
Adrian's face darkened menacingly. "Is this supposed to be a joke, Mr. Bancroft?"
Liam leaned back, radiating his usual arrogant charm.
"You're married to a priceless diamond, but you're too blind to see it. You treat her like a cheap piece of glass. Seriously, man, get your eyes checked."
Adrian ground his teeth, fighting back an explosive rage.
"I don't need you to tell me what kind of woman my wife is!"
"I'll be honest with you, Adrian," Liam said casually. "I used to have a massive crush on Jo. But she wasn't into me. Who knew she'd end up settling for a guy who couldn't see a good thing if it hit him in the face?"
Adrian froze, then let out a cold, bitter laugh.
"So you do have impure intentions toward my wife."
"They were purely respectful at first. Unlike you, I don't make a habit of messing around with married people. But now..."
