The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 241

"Sir, you still have feelings for Miss Evans, don't you?"

Ethan waited for a long time but received no answer.

The man resting with his eyes closed was like a statue, completely devoid of expression.

Ethan tactfully changed the subject.

"In a couple of days, the Lowell family is hosting the newborn party. Should we send them that major gift then?"

Julian slowly opened his mouth.

"Hold off on this gift for a bit. On the day of the one-month celebration, the Lowell family will be receiving another major surprise."

For little Leo's one-month celebration, the Lowell family didn't throw a massive public gala, but all the relatives were present. Grandma Lowell's closest business associates also attended, bringing lavish gifts.

The Oakhaven Estates villa had never been this lively.

Expensive presents were piled high like a mountain. The sheer display of wealth had Grandma Lowell grinning from ear to ear.

Adrian came out of the room holding the baby, while Audrey, wearing a form-fitting red gown, stuck close by his side.

They looked every bit the picture-perfect family of three.

Everyone present was essentially family. Even if they had their suspicions about the situation, no one would dare voice them out loud.

With a casual stroke of a pen, Caleb Preston gifted his new grandson a fifty-million-dollar estate.

He gave Audrey an incredible amount of respect and validation.

Audrey looked at Adrian with deep affection.

"Adrian, my dad just lost so much money a while ago, yet he's still giving such a precious gift. It just goes to show how much he values his grandson, and how much he values you."

Adrian pulled his wandering thoughts back to the present.

Today was supposed to be a joyous occasion, so why couldn't he shake this feeling of unhappiness?

Caleb Preston waved Adrian over.

Adrian braced himself and walked over.

Grandma Lowell spoke first.

"Adrian, I just had a chat with Mr. Preston about you and Audrey, and I've made my thoughts clear. Mr. Preston fully supports this decision. Now it's time for you to make your stance known."

Adrian absolutely hated this feeling of being backed into a corner.

"Grandma, today is Leo's big day. Let's talk about me and Audrey after all this is over."

Grandma Lowell wasn't having it. "There's no time like the present. Since Mr. Preston is here today, we might as well get it settled. You've already signed the divorce papers with that woman. Tomorrow, you will go to the courthouse and get the official certificate. The sooner you finalize the divorce, the sooner you can give Audrey and Mr. Preston a proper explanation."
