The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 462

Jeremy: "So what if I am? I'm not taking it from just anyone, I'm taking it from my sister. I like it."

Jocelyn shuddered in disgust.

"You're making me sick!"

Jeremy whined like a child.

"Come on, just lend me a little. I'll pay you back when I have money, I swear."

"No! Don't even think about it."

"A hundred grand. Just a hundred grand, okay?"

"A hundred thousand dollars? What do you need that much for? Are you going to some club to play the big shot and let people leach off you again?"

This was Jeremy's worst habit. He threw money around his sketchy friends to look generous, completely oblivious that they all laughed at him behind his back, treating him like a walking ATM. The idiot basked in their fake flattery, blind to the fact that none of them actually cared about him.

"It's just a hangout with friends. I can't look cheap."

Jocelyn was practically fuming.

"No!"

Jeremy: "Then fifty thousand?"

Jocelyn: "Get lost!"

Suddenly, another voice came through the line.

It was Diana Evans.

"Jeremy, who are you talking to? I'm telling you, you're staying home for the next few days. You aren't going anywhere until you reflect on your behavior and actually learn something!"

Jocelyn gave a sarcastic smile.

"Your mother has spoken. You better behave, or you might actually piss her off enough to cut you out of the will completely."

Jeremy seemed quite confident about that.

"I'm her only son. Who else is she going to give it to?"

He had a point. Diana wasn't generous enough to donate her fortune to charity.

Still obsessed with his cash problem, Jeremy kept sweet-talking her.

"My dearest sister, please just lend me a little. If not fifty, even ten thousand is fine. I'm completely broke right now. Have some pity on your little brother. Stop leaving me out to dry. I didn't even hold a grudge against you for that incident at the police station."

Pity?

Fine.

Jocelyn: "Alright, I'll transfer it to you in a minute."

"You better keep your word! You really are the best."
