Audrey waited anxiously in the car. When she saw Adrian coming out, she immediately threw open the door and ran over, her face lighting up with relief.

It wasn't until she got closer that she noticed Jocelyn trailing behind him. A thick look of resentment flashed through Audrey's eyes.

"Jo, are you okay?"

Jocelyn ignored her entirely and turned to Adrian. "Who called the cops?"

Adrian frowned. "I didn't."

He wanted to know just as badly. Who had taken it upon themselves to call the police?

Jocelyn caught sight of Audrey out of the corner of her eye.

She had learned how to play it cool.

Jocelyn asked Adrian, "Who else knew about my kidnapping?"

Adrian replied, "Me, Todd, Audrey... and from the looks of it, Julian and his people."

Adrian was genuinely confused. How had Julian found out? He hadn't breathed a word to anyone outside their circle.

Jocelyn was certain. "Mr. Vance wouldn't have called the cops. If it wasn't Todd or you, Adrian, who do you think it was?"

Adrian's first reaction wasn't to suspect Audrey, but rather... "How can you be so sure it wasn't Julian?"

Jocelyn didn't blink. "If I say it wasn't him, it wasn't him."

Adrian felt a flash of irritation. "You seem to trust him a lot."

"I do."

Adrian's chest tightened even more. "Why do you trust him so much?"

"Because he earns it."

Adrian was so angry he couldn't speak.

It was strange, though. He was furious, but he couldn't bring himself to take it out on her.

Especially when he looked at the raw wound on Jocelyn's neck. The anger drained away, replaced by a sudden ache of sympathy.

"Let's get that wound treated first," he said softly.

Once she was bandaged up, he had a lot of questions for her.
