They witnessed a girl trapped in hell breaking her chains in a bloodbath and returning to the human world to seek her family. And in the end, she willingly sank back into the mud to protect those she loved.

Hannah’s nose turned red. In her world, besides Maxwell and her parents, no one would risk their life for her.

Family was everything to Hannah, and up until now, she hadn’t truly seen Nova as family. Yet Nova had come without hesitation.

With surprising strength, she lifted the tall Maxwell with one hand and walked straight toward the passage, ignoring Hannah, who remained tied up.

Hannah, who had been secretly crying moments before, froze in place.

As Nova reached the passage entrance, she saw Jordan, Waylon, and the other team members standing stunned.

Jordan was totally dumbfounded, thinking, ‘Nova took down all the fugitives alone. So…. We are extras in this mission?’

As they headed down the stairs, Maxwell asked, “Is Jordan Cox the hidden expert Zane mentioned?”

When Zane first found Maxwell and suggested they drop the whole rivalry between the two clubs to join forces against those hidden fugitives at SLRA, he had revealed Jordan’s identity.

Nova nodded. “Yes.”

Maxwell said seriously, “Novie, you’re strong, but be careful dealing with these people!”

Knowing his worry was futile, Nova still replied softly, like a younger sister relying on her brother, “I know, Max.”

Her sweet voice made Maxwell feel she was just an ordinary girl, and he couldn’t help but affectionately ruffle her hair.

By the time Jordan and the team finished verifying the bodies, it was already 8:30 p.m.

Hannah and Maxwell went home first. Before leaving, Maxwell reminded Nova to return as soon as she was done.
