Sophia continued. “Hey, you know, the hot springs trip in previous years was so much fun. That time we went to a hot springs hotel called ‘Oceanie Spring’ in Harald. They had separate baths for men and women.
“And guess what happened? A girl accidentally took a wrong turn and barged right into the men’s bath. She saw all the guys inside naked!”
“We all said privately how jealous we were of that girl. We wished we were her.”
Sophia was practically dancing with excitement as she spoke, her face glowing.
For a schoolgirl like her, a girl accidentally walking into the men’s bath was the kind of big news. After all, the world these students experienced was just that small.
Nova couldn’t understand why Sophia was so thrilled. In the world she knew she had seen powerless women surrounded and violated on the battlefield.
She had also seen powerful female mercenaries treating pretty boys like pets-playing with them as they pleased.
There was so much darkness in the world that these students, sheltered by school walls, would never encounter.
They were so protected that they remained ignorant of the world’s shadows. Whether that was sad or lucky was hard to say. “Nova, you’ll go on the hot springs trip this time, right?” Sophia asked eagerly, her eyes sparkling.
But Nova’s reply was straightforward. “No.”
School-organized group activities like this were no different from spring outings to Nova, and she had no interest in them. “Huh?” Sophia deflated like a punctured balloon, her whole posture slumping. “Why not? It’s so much fun.”
Before Sophia could recover from her disappointment, a girl from their class stood at the back door, waving and calling, “Nova, someone’s here to see you.”
Nova looked up and saw Jordan.
Jordan was a hidden expert on campus, and not long ago, he had once hired Nova to capture some international fugitives.
(‘ He was the first client, after her return, who had hired her for a mission. Put simply, he was bringing the cash straight to her. So she remembered him quite clearly.
Leaving the classroom, Nova and Jordan walked over to a tree to talk.
“No cameras here. Speak plainly.” Nova got straight to the point.
Although Jordan had witnessed Nova’s astonishing skills during the fugitive capture-taking down a sniper and breaking through frontlines-he was still taken aback by her intense vigilance now.
He swallowed and asked, “Are you joining the school’s hot springs trip this time?”
“You want me to go?” Nova narrowed her eyes, catching on to what Jordan was really hinting at.
Jordan nodded. “Exactly. To be honest, the hot springs location the school picked is in Janelle, a place where I was stationed back when I was in the military.

Chapter 79-
nist checked the exact spot. Coincidentally, it’s only separated from our Sector X18 base by a small forest.

“Since you know my commander, why not take this chance to visit the base? I remember you asked me to send a message to the commander before, You could go see him yourself.”
Truthfully, Nova wasn’t very interested in meeting the commander. To her, dealing with him was an old story. It hardly mattered anymore. But visiting the base.
Nova perked up instantly. “Can you get me some handy weapons?” she asked directly.
She had returned from Devil’s Isle almost empty-handed-security returning to Zoria was strict. Apart from the pistol she had picked up during the fugitive capture, she had no other weapons.
For a weapons enthusiast, going to sleep every night without a few guns by her side felt deeply unsettling. That was why Nova asked.
Her question gave Jordan a real shock. He thought, ‘Even though I knew skills, she asked for weapons like it’s no big deal. Shouldn’t girls her age be into clothes and makeup? Why is her style so unique?’
Even so, Jordan kept his composure and replied, “Yes, but you can’t take them out of the base.”
Nova asked, “Is there any way to bring them out?”
Jordan nodded. “Yeah.” He looked at Nova and said seriously, “Join Sector X18. Someone with your talents would be more than welcome on our team.”
Nova didn’t outright refuse, only responded flatly, “If there’s money involved, I’ll consider it.”
Jordan was speechless, thinking, ‘Money again? She acts just like those mercenaries who only care about cash-pay up they’ll work.
and
With that, Nova turned and walked toward her classroom. Halfway there, she paused, glanced back at Jordan, and added, “I’ll join the hot springs trip.”
She had changed her mind. If it meant getting her hands on the weapons that had been her constant companions for over a decade, adjusting her plans was worth it.
Hearing this, Jordan grinned. “Good.”
Just as Nova reached the classroom door, her phone rang. She pulled it out and glanced at the screen. It was Felix calling. These hidden experts on campus-Felix, Evie, Freya, Dustin, and Isaac-formed an alliance to defend against potential pursuit after escaping their organizations.
They now knew the assassination order on Crimson Web wasn’t from the organization itself. It was posted by an “individual,” likely a personal enemy.
Nova thought, ‘With the hit still active, Felix calling at this point could only mean one thing-I have a new mission.
Nova answered the call, and Felix’s urgent voice came through immediately, “Someone took the hit on us. I suspect they’ll make their move while we’re heading to the hot spring trip.
“I’ve been monitoring Crimson Web. The ones who accepted are high-level assassins, way too strong for us to handle together. Nova, we need your help. I want to hire you.”
