The Messenger( Iva) novel Chapter 166

Crown’s Protection-1

The moment Iva stepped fully onto the altar, the air in the chamber changed so abruptly that several of those present instinctively straightened, as if bracing for something unseen yet undeniable.

The moonlight above intensified, no longer soft and distant but focused, almost deliberate, pouring down in a silver beam that bathed her entirely, isolating her from the rest of the world as though she stood between realms.

Iva’s breath hitched.

Avalon surged beneath her skin.

Iva… something is happening…

“I know…” she whispered inwardly, her fingers trembling slightly at her sides.

Elder Tamisa moved with calm precision, her every step measured as she circled the altar once, then stopped directly in front of Iva, lifting both hands slowly.

“By the ancient laws of our kind,” the elder began, her voice resonating through the chamber with quiet authority, “and under the eternal witness of the Moon Goddess, we call upon the truth that cannot be hidden, the bond that cannot be forged falsely, and the power that cannot be imitated.”

A low hum seemed to rise from the very walls.

Or perhaps from the people.

Or perhaps from Iva herself.

“Place your hand here, child.”

Tamisa gestured toward a shallow indentation carved into the center of the white stone-smooth, worn by time, ancient beyond comprehension.

Iva hesitated only a second before stepping closer and placing her palm against the cold surface.

The reaction was immediate.

Г

A sharp pulse shot up her arm, not painful, but overwhelming-like her entire being had just been struck by lightning made of silver light.

She gasped.

The altar responded.

Faint lines began to glow beneath her hand, spreading outward like cracks of light across the stone, forming intricate patterns-symbols, ancient runes, circles within circles.

The room fell into absolute silence.

Someone exhaled sharply.

Iva’s heart pounded violently in her chest as warmth spread from her palm through her entire body,

Crown’s Protection-1

reaching deep into her core-into something she hadn’t fully understood until now.

Avalon let out a low, awed whisper.

That’s… us…

The light intensified.

And then-

It appeared.

From the center of Iva’s chest, faint at first, then unmistakable-a thread.

A glowing, crimson thread of light.

Gasps echoed across the chamber.

The thread extended outward, visible to all, pulsing gently like a living thing, stretching into the air as though searching… connecting…

Linking.

One end anchored to her.

The other… reaching.

Several council members stepped forward involuntarily, their composure cracking as they stared in

disbelief.

“The Thread of Fate…” someone whispered, voice shaking.

“It’s real…”

“It’s visible…”

Elder Tamisa did not look surprised-but her eyes sharpened, watching closely.

“Focus, child,” she instructed gently.

Iva swallowed, her entire body trembling as instinct took over.

She didn’t think.

She felt.

And as she did-

The thread reacted.

It split.

Not breaking–but multiplying.

Dozens of fine, glowing strands unfurled from her chest like a web of destiny, stretching across the chamber, each one pulsing differently, each one reaching toward different individuals in the room-

Claire

& Crown’s Piolethan-1

-but only a few connected.

When they did, they flared brighter.
