Eyes on Her-1
The first floor of the dormitory tower was quiet at this hour. Most students were already in classes or training, leaving the long corridor empty save for the two figures standing by the arched window.
Alexander leaned against the stone wall, his massive arms crossed over his chest, watching his friend with growing curiosity. Silviu stood motionless at the window, his broad shoulders framed by the pale day light. His focus was absolute-locked on something outside, something that had captured his attention completely.
Alexander had known Silviu Conti for nearly a decade. He had seen him in battle, in court, in the kind of trouble that made lesser wolves run for cover. But he had never seen him look quite like this.
Intense. Hungry. Focused.
“What captured your attention?” Alexander asked, pushing off from the wall.
Silviu didn’t answer immediately. His dark eyes tracked something across the campus below-moving, following, hunting. A slow smile spread across his face. It was not a warm smile. It was predatory.
Alexander stepped closer, following his friend’s gaze out the window.
Below, crossing the main courtyard, a figure moved. A tiny she-wolf with long ash-brown hair that caught the sunlight and held it. She walked with purpose, her head high, her shoulders straight. Even from this distance, Alexander could see that she was beautiful.
But it was the way Silviu looked at her that made Alexander’s stomach tighten.
“It can’t be nothing good from your expression,” Alexander said dryly.
Silviu chuckled-a low, rumbling sound that held no warmth.
“She’s new,” Silviu said, his eyes never leaving the woman below. “I’ve never seen her before. And I know every face on this campus.”
Alexander studied the she-wolf more carefully. There was something about her. Something that made his instincts prick with awareness. She moved like someone who had learned to be invisible-but there was a power beneath her steps. A quiet strength that most would miss.
“Maybe she’s a transfer,” Alexander offered.
“Maybe.” Silviu’s smile widened.

The she-wolf paused at the edge of the courtyard, glancing around as if she felt someone watching her. For a moment, her gaze swept toward the dormitory tower-toward the window where they stood, before continuing her walk.
Silviu didn’t flinch. Didn’t hide. He simply watched her, his dark eyes drinking her in.
Even from the distance, even from floors above, Alexander saw him measure her. Head to toe. Every curve. Every line. Every inch of her.
“What a tiny little thing you are,” Silviu murmured, almost to himself. “I wonder how long it would take until

Alexander’s jaw tightened.
He had heard those words before. Had seen that look before. And every time, it had ended in disaster.
“Silviu,” Alexander said, his voice low and warning. “Your father would not be happy. Don’t forget the ultimatum he gave you.”
Silviu’s smile didn’t waver.
“I haven’t forgotten.”
“You need to stay out of trouble.” Alexander’s tone was firm. “One more incident. One more complaint. He said he would exile you to the Northern Territories. You know he meant it.”
Silviu finally turned from the window. His dark eyes met Alexander’s; and for a moment, his friend saw something flicker beneath the surface. Something dangerous. Something reckless.
“What my father doesn’t know,” Silviu said softly, “is not hurting him.”
He turned back to the window.
But the she-wolf was gone. Disappeared into the crowd of students, swallowed by the campus like a stone dropped into deep water.
Silviu’s jaw tightened. His hands curled into fists at his sides.
Alexander shook his head slowly, a heavy sigh escaping his chest.
