“Your Highness,” the Alpha said, bowing deeply. His voice was smooth, practiced, the voice of a man who had spent decades navigating political waters. “Congratulations on your crowning. The Adama family is truly fortunate to have you.”

The Luna stepped forward as well, her head bowed, her hands clasped in front of her. When she lifted her gaze, her eyes met Iva’s.

“Princess Iva,” she said, and her voice was softer, almost hesitant. “What a surprise this is. To see you rise so high after all these years.”

Iva’s smile didn’t waver.

“Thank you for your kind words,” she said, her voice perfectly neutral. “Your presence here is… noted.”

The Alpha’s eyes flickered-just for a moment-and Iva caught it. The flash of resentment beneath the polished surface. The barely concealed anger that simmered beneath his calm demeanor.

He was not happy to be here.

He was not happy to be bowing to the girl he had once tried to sell like livestock.

But he was here. And he was playing his part.

The Luna’s smile was thinner, more brittle. Her eyes darted away from Iva’s face, scanning the crowd behind her. And when they landed on a familiar flash of red hair, Iva saw it.

Recognition.

Lori.

The Luna’s lips pressed together in a thin line. Her hands tightened around each other. She looked away quickly, but the damage was done.

Iva’s blood ran cold.

“Caleb,” she mind-linked urgently, her mental voice sharp and quick. “They’re up to something. I can feel it. And they saw Lori. They know she’s here.”

Caleb’s response was immediate. “I see it too. Attia’s already moving. He’s dispatching his wolves as we speak.”

“We need to get Lori’s family out of the pack. Now. Before the Alpha can use them as leverage.”

“Agreed. I’ll make sure Attia knows the urgency.”

The Alpha cleared his throat, drawing Iva’s attention back to the present.

“We were hoping, Your Highness,” he said, his voice dripping with false humility, “that we might have a moment to speak with you privately. There are matters of mutual interest that I believe would benefit both our families.”

Iva’s smile remained fixed.
