Meeting The Stolic !
Meeting The Scotts-1
After Iva left, Lori sat alone in her small dorm room, the silence pressing in around her.
She stared at the closed door, her mind drifting back to the moment she had tried so hard to forget.
The moment she met the Scotts.
Claim
It had been during Iva’s crowning ceremony.
The grand hall had been filled with nobles and dignitaries, their jewels glittering under the chandeliers, their voices a constant hum of polite conversation. Lori had been nervous enough just being there- surrounded by wolves who outranked her, who looked at her like she was a curiosity rather than a guest.
Then Attia had taken her hand and led her toward his family.
And everything had gone wrong.
The Scott family was gathered in a small alcove near the back of the hall, their posture rigid, their expressions carefully controlled. They were beautiful-all of them-with the kind of polished elegance that came from generations of wealth and power.
Attia’s mother was tall and slender, her dark hair swept into an elaborate updo, her gown worth more than Lori’s entire wardrobe. Her eyes swept over Lori like she was inspecting a piece of merchandise.
And finding it lacking.
“So,” Lady Scott said, her voice cool and measured, this is the girl.”
Attia’s hand tightened on Lori’s.
“Mother, this is Lorelei Thompson. My mate.”
The word hung in the air like a challenge.
Lady Scott’s lips pressed into a thin line.
す
“Mate,” she repeated. “How… unexpected.”
Attia’s father stepped forward. He was a tall, imposing man, his features carved from the same granite as
his son’s. But where Attia’s eyes held warmth, his father’s held ice.
“Lorelei,” he said, and her name sounded like an accusation. “What pack do you come from?”
Lori’s throat tightened.
“Silvercrest Pack, sir. But I am currently studying at the Lycan Academy. I’m in the medical program.”
“Medical,” Lord Scott repeated, his tone unreadable. “How… practical.”
Lady Scott’s lips curved into a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

“And your family? What do they do?”
Lori forced herself to meet the woman’s gaze.
“My parents are doctors. Healers. They run a small clinic in our pack
“A small clinic,” Lady Scott echoed. “How quaint.”
The dismissal in her voice was like a slap.
Lori felt her cheeks burn.
Attia stepped forward, positioning himself slightly in front of her.
“Mother, Father, I would like you to treat Lorelei with respect. She is my fated mate.”
Lord Scott’s eyes narrowed.
Claim
“Fated or not, this is a significant step down from Monica Zarg. And you broke off your engagement with her for this?”
He gestured toward Lori as if she were an inconvenience.
Lori felt the words like a physical blow.
*This.*
Not *her.* Not *Lorelei.* Just a thing. A problem. An embarrassment.
Attia’s voice was sharp, cutting through the tension like a blade.
“She has a name. And I am the owner of my own life. I have sacrificed enough to give me the right to have control over my future.”
Lord Scott’s face flushed with anger.
“Your future is tied to this family. You have obligations-”
“I have obligations to my mate,” Attia interrupted. “Obligations that supersede any political arrangement you try to force on me.”
Lady Scott’s composure cracked.

“Attia, you cannot be serious. You would throw away everything we have built for you-for a *medical student* from a no-name pack?”
