No Turning Back II-1
Outside, the wind whispered through the pines, but inside, the world had narrowed to just the two of them.
Lori lay beneath Attia, her body still trembling from the aftershocks of her release. Her chest heaved with ragged breaths, her skin flushed and glistening with a thin sheen of sweat. The firelight played across her curves, illuminating the gentle swell of her breasts, the soft curve of her hip, the tangled mess of her red hair spread across the pillow like a fiery halo
She felt boneless, weightless, completely consumed by the intensity of what they had just shared. Every nerve ending in her body was still singing, still vibrating with the echoes of pleasure that had wracked her frame. She had never experienced anything like it-the way he had taken her apart, piece by piece, rebuilding her into something new.
But Attia was not finished.
He rose above her, his dark eyes blazing with a hunger that made her breath catch. The firelight illuminated the sculpted planes of his chest, the ridges of his stomach, the powerful muscles that flexed with every movement. His body was hard, ready, still craving more. The evidence of his desire pressed against her thigh, hot and insistent, a reminder that their night was far from over.
“Lori,” he said, his voice low and rough, barely more than a growl. “I need you to understand something. And I need to say it before we lose our minds to the desire!”
She looked up at him, her eyes wide and dazed, still lost in the haze of pleasure. Her lips were swollen from his kisses, her skin marked with the evidence of his passion.
“This is not just about the heat,” he continued, his gaze never leaving hers. “This is not just about biology. This is about us. About what we are to each other. Do you understand?”
She nodded, her throat too tight to speak. The intensity in his eyes made her heart race, made her feel like she was the only woman in the world.
“I have wanted you since the moment I saw you,” he said, his voice dropping even lower. “Not because of the bond. Not because of fate. Because of you. Because of your strength, your kindness, your fire. Because you saw me-the real me-and you didn’t run. You fought for our bond even when I was ready to push you away, to let you find someone more appropriate an not as damaged as me.”
Lori’s eyes filled with tears. She reached up and touched his face, her fingers tracing the strong line of his jaw.
“I couldn’t run from you,” she whispered. “Even when I wanted to. Even when I was scared. I couldn’t.”
Attia turned his head and pressed a kiss to her palm.
“I am going to claim you now,” he said softly, his lips brushing against her skin. “Completely. Fully. There will be pain, but I will do everything in my power to make it bearable. Do you trust me?”
“Yes,” she breathed. “I trust you.”
He kissed her then-deep and consuming, his tongue sweeping into her mouth. She moaned against his lips, her hands tangling in his hair, pulling him closer. She tasted herself on his tongue, a reminder of the

When he pulled back, his eyes were wild, his control hanging by a thread. His chest heaved with ragged
breaths, and she could feel the trembling in his powerful arms as he held himself above her.
He positioned himself between her legs, the tip of him pressing against her entrance. She could feel the heat of him, the size of him, and a flicker of fear crossed her face.
Attia saw it.
He paused, his forehead pressing against hers.
“Look at me,” he commanded softly, his voice gentle but firm.
