The room fell into a heavy silence.

Attia’s brow furrowed deeply, his mind racing to piece together the fragments of Meriem’s story. The Bloodfang Pack was legendary-one of the wealthiest packs in the world, its assets rivaling even his own family’s considerable fortune.

Alpha Calin was a name spoken with a mixture of respect and fear. Ruthless. Calculating. A leader who had built his empire on the backs of those weaker than him.

But Attia had never heard of a Luna.

He frowned, his eyes narrowing.

“I don’t recall the Alpha of the Bloodfang Pack being mated,” he said slowly. “From what I know, Alpha Calin is notorious for having a different she-wolf on his arm each month. No one

ever mentioned a Luna.”

Meriem let out a bitter, ironic laugh.

“No one knows about my existence,” she said, her voice hollow. “I am a secret. A shameful secret that he has kept hidden for years.”

Attia leaned forward, his voice conflicted.

“Why the secrecy? It’s rare for an Alpha to hide the existence of their mate. It goes against tradition. Against the bond itself.”

Meriem shook her head, a sad smile playing on her lips.

“He’s afraid of the truth coming out,” she said quietly. “He’s afraid of a coup.”

Lori’s hand tightened on Meriem’s.

“What truth?” she asked gently.

Meriem took a shaky breath.
