The Mighty Mage novel Chapter 38

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Ultimate Guide to Basic Alchemy

A flying book came from her left direction and stopped just at a certain distance away from her in the air.

Just as Gu Jin was confused about why it wasn’t falling on her like other books usually used to do, more and more flying books came from other directions towards her.

For a moment Gu Jin was covered by thousands of books and just when she was ready to make a move a blank open book with a golden cover appeared in front of her.

All the other books moved in the Golden Cover Book’s direction and one by one got absorbed into the book.

Gu Jin’s eyes widened with astonishment.

By the time she came to her senses all the books were absorbed by the Golden Cover Book, which suddenly closed and kept floating in front of Gu Jin.

Gu Jin tried to touch it but it dodged and started moving in up and down direction.

Confused Gu Jin asked,

"You don’t want me to touch you?"

The book flipped from left to right direction.

As if a human shaking his head, to express disagreement.

Gu Jin: "..." So what do you want? Want to become my ancestor?

Suddenly Gu Jin thought of something and asked,

"Do you want me to give you a name?"

That was the only possible thing she could think of. It was just a random guess but the book started moving in up and down direction.

It was as if the book was nodding.

"Okay. Let’s call you the Ultimate Guide to Basic Alchemy." Gu Jin casually commented.

The Golden Cover book suddenly glowed with golden light and on the front cover, in beautiful cursive handwriting the name "Ultimate Guide to Basic Alchemy" appeared.

The book fell on Gu Jin’s lap.

Gu Jin wanted to experiment with a few more things, however, since the matter of alchemy was much more important, she kept her doubts and curiosity aside.

Opening the book Gu Jin started reading,

"Alchemy is part of nature..."

Just the first line made Gu Jin frown.

Part of nature? So weird! Skipping a few lines Gu Jin read from where the main basics were started.

"Alchemy is the art of making potions, pills, and medicines. To learn Alchemy one mainly needs Fire and Plant Elements. One should also get acquainted with herbs and methods of potion-making.

Materials required for Alchemy are herbs, a good quality furnace, and Fire and Plant Element."

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow.

Fire Element?

Well, she doesn’t have that!

However, the next line eased her tension.

"If one doesn’t have a Fire Element they could use an external source of fire. The only drawback is, that the level of pill or potion will drop."

It is better to have something than to not have anything! Gu Jin thought.

"Sister, are you going out?"

His mouth twitched when he saw her attire...

Gu Jin was dressed up as a man today. Her originally beautiful pale skin was now tanned. With a cap, she was able to hide her long and smooth hair.

What was even more surprising was that she still looked handsome in a plain white shirt with a black jacket and black pants.

Just like a handsome teenage young man!!

He silently thanked god in his heart for not making his sister a man, otherwise, men in the entire world would lose their girlfriends/wives/sisters!

"Hm. I am thinking of joining some Hunter Group." Gu Jin didn’t plan to hide anything from Si Kai hence she told him the truth.

"I want to join too!" Si Kai said.

Gu Jin didn’t straightway reject his request.

She was worried about his safety but at the same time, she knew that if Si Kai planned to leave the city someday he needed to be prepared and face some of the life-death situations to understand the dangers of his plan.

As for his age? Well...she was also very young when she became a mafia leader. If she can then he can too!

But then again, he is only 4 years old. He should be at least 5 years old before practicing any real-life combat.

"Next year." Gu Jin said and turned to leave.

"At least take me with you, I get bored here all by myself!" Si Kai said.

Gu Jin smiled in her heart but she said with an impatient expression,

"Get ready then I don’t have much time."
