The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 129

Chapter 129: The King Was A Stalker

Primrose tilted her head, looking at her husband in confusion. "You? You want to come with me to Moonshadow City?"

Actually ... It kind of made sense.

If Edmund wanted to assign someone he trusted completely, someone who was without a doubt the strongest in all of Noctvaris, then the only person who truly met those standards ... was himself.

It might sound a little narcissistic, but it was the truth.

"Yes, me," Edmund replied, his smile slowly fading when he accidentally caught his reflection in the window. "Is that ... a problem?"

"Is it a problem?" Primrose looked at him, slightly concerned. "Your Majesty, I should be the one asking that. Are you sure you’re alright with coming with me? This trip might take several days. What about your work?"

And while they were at it ... what about her work?

Sevrin had just started giving her real tasks bit by bit and even though she was still struggling, that wasn’t the issue.

The real problem was Sevrin wouldn’t be pleased if she left for a trip without finishing her assignments first.

Originally, she had planned to ask her husband to help handle some of her tasks while she was away, just for a few days.

But if he came with her ... who would cover her responsibilities?

Worse than that, Sevrin might force her to finish all her assignments before she even left the palace.

Her head would absolutely explode if she had to compile all the financial reports in such a short time.

The expenses of the Noctvaris Palace weren’t simple, they ranged from food and supplies to weapons and logistics.

Each category needed to be calculated separately before she could even think about putting the whole report together.

With her current skill level ... how could she possibly finish it all in a week?!

"I can finish all my work in just a few days," Edmund said confidently.

[No, you can’t,] he thought to himself. [I’ve been procrastinating for who knows how long ... now there’s a mountain of paperwork waiting for me!]

Primrose furrowed her brows. Edmund’s desk looked strangely neat, not a single paper in sight.

But as her eyes drifted downward, she finally noticed the stacks of documents hidden underneath the table.

Didn’t he spend almost all his time in this room? Then how in the world did he still have that much work left?

Then again, how could she judge him?

She couldn’t even finish her own work and hers was far less than his.

She let out a quiet sigh, thinking to herself the people of Noctvaris were cursed, being ruled by a king and queen who both had a bad habit of procrastinating.

"Are you really sure about this?" Primrose asked again, trying one last time to shake Edmund’s determination to join her.

However, Edmund nodded right away without thinking too long. frёeωebɳovel.com

"I’m sure," he said. Then, with a softer voice, he added, "I don’t think I’d be able to sleep peacefully if I let my wife travel alone."

[The road is too dangerous for her to go by herself. If anything bad were to happen to her ... I’d never forgive myself.]

[But if she insists on not letting me come, then I’ll just follow her in secret.]

Oh.

If her memory hadn’t faded too much, she thought it had something to do with him saying, "You should have stayed home."
