The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 133

Chapter 133: The King Would Never Let His Queen Wait

Primrose was still half-asleep when Marielle and Solene guided her into the bathroom and helped her get dressed.

They made sure the Queen wore something comfortable since she’d be sitting in a carriage for a very long time.

"You can’t fall asleep again, Your Majesty," Solene said gently, keeping Primrose’s head from drooping onto the vanity. Marielle was already fixing her hair, trying to make it look neat. "We need to leave before the sun rises."

"Why are we leaving so early?" Primrose grumbled, pointing toward the window. "Just look at the sky, it’s still dark!"

Solene sighed patiently. "Your Majesty, remember what I said? It takes two full days by carriage to reach Moonshadow City from the capital. If we leave too late, we won’t make it to the first inn before nightfall."

Primrose puffed out her cheeks. "I already told His Majesty I didn’t need a carriage."

Edmund had told her that if they went on horseback, they could arrive in one day. And if they traveled in their beast forms, they could make it in just two hours.

The time difference shocked her. So of course, she’d asked her husband if she could travel with him in his beast form, since it sounded way more efficient, but Edmund had refused her in less than a second.

He almost never said no to her, so when he did, it meant he truly didn’t want her to do something. That was why Primrose didn’t bring it up again.

Honestly, she had just been curious to see her husband’s beast form.

She’d asked him many times before, but no matter how much she reassured him she wouldn’t be scared, he always turned her down.

"Your body wouldn’t be able to handle our speed," Solene reminded her gently. "You’d probably catch a fever as soon as we got there."

But her father had traveled back and forth between Illvaris and Noctvaris before. Wasn’t he fine?

Then she remembered, he had written that he was on bedrest for a few days and the doctor had told him to take it easy for two weeks.

She’d thought it was just one of his usual illnesses, but now that she thought about it, maybe it was from moving too fast in a short time.

Primrose bit her lower lip, feeling a bit guilty for letting her father suffer that much.

"Alright, alright. I get it," she finally agreed. "I just don’t want everyone getting annoyed because they have to slow down for me."

"No one would dare get annoyed with you, Your Majesty!" Marielle paused, then added with a grin, "His Majesty would probably cut out their tongue if they did."

Primrose blinked in shock and murmured, "There’s no need to cut off anyone’s tongue. It’s fine if someone complains a little ..."

After all, beasts naturally move faster than ordinary humans, especially those with high stamina. It would be understandable if some of them were frustrated by the slow pace they had to match for her sake.

"You really don’t need to worry about that, Your Majesty," Solene said gently, trying to ease her mind. "Actually, I think everyone would be more upset if you didn’t take the carriage."
