The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145: The Queen Doesn’t Need to Wear a Thick Coat

The next day, luckily, Primrose didn’t wake up too late even though she had gone to sleep in the middle of the night.

Still, when she glanced at the clock, it was already pointing to ten. That meant there was a high chance they wouldn’t make it to the second inn before sunset.

"What would happen if we traveled at night?" Primrose asked Solene and Marielle, who were helping her get dressed.

Honestly, she didn’t get it. If they were worried about bandits showing up after dark, didn’t that sound a little silly?

Edmund was riding in the same carriage with her. Any bandit who dared to stop the King of Beasts was clearly tired of living.

"It’s because of the weather, Your Majesty," Solene explained gently. "As we get closer to the Moonshadow territory, the air will turn colder, especially at night. That’s why, traveling at night wouldn’t be safe for you."

[Even if Her Majesty is inside the carriage, it might be hard to stay warm while the carriage keeps moving. She might get cold and suffer during the journey.]

Why did everyone keep saying that? She had lived through winters in her homeland. Surely, a little cold was nothing she couldn’t handle.

"Then ... if we don’t make it to the inn, where will we stop?" Primrose asked.

Solene answered, "We’ll set up camp. It won’t be as comfy as a proper bed, but it’s still a better choice than forcing the trip through the cold."

Primrose remembered seeing some soldiers loading tents into the supply wagon.

She didn’t know much about camping, but even she could tell those tents were thick, probably as thick as the ones people used for expeditions to icy mountains.

Moonshadow City was only in the ordinary mountains, right? Why were they acting like they were heading to the top of a frozen peak?

Because of their overly cautious attitude, Primrose started to think that the cold might really be so deadly it could freeze her bones.

Maybe ... she should listen and let them take care of her the best way they could. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

"Let’s hope we can still make it to the second inn," Marielle said as she tied the coat around Primrose’s body and nodded. "You’re ready, Your Majesty."

Primrose blinked in surprise when she realized how thick and fluffy the coat was. She already felt hot, even though she had worn it for less than five minutes.

"Why didn’t you pick another coat?" she asked Marielle. "I think you packed a thinner one somewhere."

Marielle then looked at her very seriously. "Your Majesty, with all due respect, it’s better for you to keep this coat on because we’re about to enter a much colder region."

Primrose wanted to protest, but after seeing how firm Marielle’s expression was, she sighed and gave in. "Alright. I’ll wear it."

After all, if she didn’t feel cold during the journey, she could just take the coat off inside the carriage.

"Your Majesty, we’re ready to leave," Callen suddenly called from outside the door.
