The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 152

Chapter 152: The Queen’s Impossible Request

Primrose and Edmund ended up not doing anything unholy that night.

She had been so exhausted that the moment her head hit the pillow, she fell straight into a deep sleep.

It wasn’t surprising, considering she had been on the road for more than two days, and just last night, they had to sleep outdoors.

So tonight, all she wanted was one peaceful night of rest without doing anything that would leave her even more tired.

Fortunately, Edmund didn’t push her.

He didn’t complain or try to wake her for their usual "two-hour" activity.

Instead, he simply lay beside her and wrapped his arms around her, holding her close through the night, sharing his warmth.

By the time the sun began to rise, Primrose woke up feeling refreshed, her body well-rested and her mood surprisingly good, enough to make her hum softly all morning.

After all, today she could finally begin her mission to save the Marchioness from a monster.

"Husband," Primrose tugged lightly at Edmund’s sleeve once she stepped out of their inn room. "Can you do me a favor when we arrive at the Marquess’s residence?"

Edmund swallowed hard the moment he saw his wife all dressed up.

Today, Primrose wasn’t wearing anything overly fancy or extravagant, since their meeting with the Marquess and Marchioness wasn’t a formal event.

She wore a soft, long-sleeved light green dress, covered by a thick white fur coat with gold accents.

The coat was so big and fluffy that she looked like she was almost swallowed up in it.

To Edmund, she looked exactly like a fluffy white rabbit.

As if her dress and coat weren’t adorable enough, Primrose had asked Marielle to braid her hair to the side, then decorate it with tiny white flowers tucked neatly into the braid.

[Why does my wife look more beautiful every single day?!]

[At this point, I don’t even know what to do to keep up with her beauty!]

The truth was, he didn’t need to do anything.

Even in the simplest clothes, Edmund still looked more handsome than most men around him.

"What is it, my wife?" he asked gently, reaching out to stroke her hair with great care, making sure not to ruin the lovely hairstyle she had worked on.

Primrose’s cheeks turned a little pink at his touch. She cleared her throat, trying to calm the flutter in her chest.

"When we get there ... could you ask the Marquess to speak with you privately?" she asked softly.

She hesitated, looking slightly uncomfortable. "And ... could you say that the Marchioness and I aren’t smart enough to follow the men’s discussion?"

Edmund blinked, stunned. His brows pulled together as he stared at her in disbelief. "Why would I say something so insulting about you?"

[I’d rather bite my own tongue than say my wife isn’t smart!]

Primrose didn’t really want Edmund to say something so cruel about her.

But at the moment, it was the only way to keep the Marquess from interfering, especially when she needed time alone with the Marchioness.

Still, it seemed she needed to explain the context to her husband so he could cooperate with her properly.

"Husband, actually ... I didn’t come here just because I missed Lady Raven," she said gently.

Primrose bit the inside of her lip, unsure whether she should reveal her real intentions.

Would he understand if she suddenly admitted that her original plan was to come to Moonshadow to poison the Marquess?

"I came to confirm something really important," she said, meeting his eyes. "I promise I’ll tell you everything later. But for now ... can you help me? Just trust me and do what I ask?"
