After bombarding the mighty Lycan King with silly questions, Primrose finally let the poor man escape their unplanned tea party.
Or to be more precise, she just didn’t want Edmund to witness how embarrassing their next conversation would be. She even asked him to take her wedding ring and wait for her outside if he didn’t want to leave her unprotected.
"How could you get pregnant?!" Cassandra asked the moment Edmund left the room.
Ilyana whacked Cassandra on the head with her fan. "You idiot! How else? They’re husband and wife. They obviously do that. It’s not like you didn’t do it with your husband!"
Cassandra’s face turned red, and she looked away. "We’re not here to talk about my marriage! It’s Rosie’s turn to share about her sex life!"
Primrose pinched the bridge of her nose, feeling her soul leave her body. Why were her friends like this?
Then again... this was normal for them. Whenever one of them got married or did anything spicy, they’d start gossiping like hungry cats.
Maybe because talking about such things was taboo, it made them even more excited.
Still, if someone overheard them, they would probably call priests to exorcise the demons from their hearts.
"Is he... um... that big?" Ilyana whispered.
Primrose smacked her forehead, covered her face with her hands, and nodded slightly.
Cassandra gasped dramatically. "Oh heavens, you must be suffering! Are you sure you don’t want to leave him?"
"Cassandra!" Aster finally protested. "We agreed to give His Majesty a chance to love our friend!" Then she mumbled quietly, "And also... bigger is better, right?"
"Of course, it’s not always like that!" Cassandra snapped. "My husband is... a normal size and he’s doing great!"
Primrose sighed and finally said, "Can we not talk about this? It’s not even important." Her friends continued staring at her in silence, as if waiting for her to spill the tea. "No, it’s not painful at all, alright?! He treats me very gently and... and I like it!"
"Well, I can see that." Ilyana lowered her eyes toward Primrose’s small baby bump. "But... don’t you want to share the details?"
"NO!" Primrose yelled. All three sighed like she just ruined their birthday. "But," she smiled, "I can recommend some books my husband read to make sure I’m happy."
Before they could say anything, she smiled proudly. "But of course, I don’t think your husbands can be as good as mine." She added, "Beasts are really good at sex."
Among them, only Aster wasn’t married yet, so the others wanted to choke Primrose to death after hearing her brag about her glorious sex life.
Cassandra had married a wealthy furniture merchant. Even though she only met him a few times before the wedding, her husband turned out to treat her kindly.
Unfortunately, Cassandra once accidentally told them that her husband had fertility issues and sometimes struggled with getting an erection.
On the other side, Ilyana married her distant cousin because her father didn’t want to "dirty" their lineage by letting her marry an outsider.
She had no choice but to accept the arranged marriage because she was the only child of the Marquess of Vareth, and her father refused to pass the Marquess title to a woman, even if she was his daughter.
You could say Ilyana’s marriage life wasn’t great, but it also wasn’t terrible. At least she and her husband agreed not to interfere in each other’s affairs and only had sex whenever Ilyana was fertile to conceive a child.
They only had a one year old boy now, and it seemed they had no intention of having another since their relationship wasn’t that harmonious.
That was why, hearing one of their friends finally have such an amazing sex life made them want to scream and toss Primrose into a cauldron.
But as bad as it sounded, they weren’t serious about it.
They were actually relieved that the Lycan King could make her happy. At least that way, Primrose wouldn’t feel lonely in a place far from home.
"You’re such a jerk. Do you know that, Rosie?" Cassandra said.
Primrose only laughed, already used to her sharp tongue. "Oh, come on. I know you love me."
"I do," Cassandra sighed. "Unfortunately, I do."
To break the embarrassing atmosphere, Aster cleared her throat and said, "But you’re really cruel, Rosie. You didn’t even tell us you were coming today."
Primrose raised one eyebrow. "I’m sure my father already bragged about my arrival here." She added, "Besides... I know all of you must have also heard from Her Majesty the Queen that I was coming."
"Alright, alright," Primrose said, smiling as she patted her friend’s shoulder. "You should go now before the snowstorm decides to come back."
Cassandra let out a long sigh, and Ilyana and Aster mirrored her like three sad cats being shooed away. They clearly didn’t want to leave. But they weren’t little girls anymore, so they couldn’t just sleep over whenever they wanted.
"Let’s meet again at the auction house tomorrow," Primrose said brightly. "Maybe we’ll find something interesting there."
"Fine," Cassandra muttered, but her pout showed she was already counting the hours.
They hugged one last time, the kind of goodbye only close friends shared.
Even though they were nobles, queens, wives, and mothers now... In that moment, they were still just girls who grew up together.
And Primrose felt her heart soften. Leaving home was hard... but having friends who missed her this much made everything a little lighter.
She waved her hand as her friends’ carriage left the Duke’s manor, and not long after, she suddenly felt someone slip an arm around her waist.
"Husband..." Primrose giggled. "Do you miss me that much?"
"I do." He slipped her wedding ring back onto her finger, then took a few steps back. "But I’m glad you were able to meet your friends again."
Primrose turned around, then pulled him behind a large pillar to hide from people’s eyes. "Why don’t we continue what we wanted to do this morning?"
"Aren’t you tired?" Edmund asked. "I barely even kissed you today."
He bent down, giving her a long kiss to restore her energy.
"I’m fine now." Primrose smiled brightly.
But before Edmund could say anything, Primrose heard her father’s voice echo through the hallway. "Rosie! Rosie! The snowstorm is over! It’s time for us to go to the temple!"
This time, Primrose was the one who clicked her tongue.
