The Mischievous Doctor (Finnegan and Nuthana) novel Chapter 342

With a casual gesture, Finnegan gifted a million-dollar luxury car to everyone.

Marion's eyes widened once again. Isn't the Chance family's grandson-in-law known for living off his wife's family? How come he's acting so magnanimous now? Doesn't this mean my son has been outdone?

“Finnegan, I can't accept this. It's too expensive.”

“I appreciate your kindness, but I cannot accept this car.”

“Finny, you should return these two cars. They're too expensive. They're not suitable for Nickie and Eugene!”

“When you have some free time, just come and check on Bernie's grandparents' health. This car really isn't necessary.”

Eugene, Nicolette, Hector, and Cecelia all hastily decline Finnegan's kind offer.

The cars, collectively worth millions, were more than they believed they deserved to possess.

Finnegan took the car keys from the driver and forcefully placed them in the hands of Eugene and Nicolette. “Both cars are already registered under your names. There's no backing out now. Besides, you two are Bernie's cousins, so it's nothing for me as your cousin-in-law to give you some gifts. I can afford this.”

He then turned to Hector and Cecilia, persuading them, “Please don't stop them. Let them accept it, please.”

The couple frowned, unsure of how to respond.

“Please, accept this.” Bernice was somewhat surprised, but her overwhelming feeling was one of happiness. “Finnegan isn't short of money, and this is a token of his affection.”

Since Bernice had spoken up, Hector and Cecilia had no choice but to accept the gifts. “Quick, thank your cousin-in-law.”

With his parents' permission, Eugene finally dared to accept the keys. “Thank you, Finnegan. You're even closer to me than my own brother-in-law!”

That remark made Braxler's face turn red and also caused Marion a fair share of embarrassment.

My own son is truly left in the dust. However, upon seeing the car keys in Nicolette's hand, Marion felt somewhat reassured.

The car is a gift to Nicolette, so doesn't that essentially make it my son's? With that thought in mind, Marion revealed an ugly smile once again, feeling that the more Finnegan gave, the better.

After assuring the siblings to dispense with formalities, Finnegan gestured for someone to bring over the wooden box that he had given to Alisha that morning.

Holding it with both hands, she presented it to Samuel. “Grandpa, Bernie told me that you enjoy collecting fine calligraphy and paintings. Hence, I had someone write a few words for you. Are you satisfied with them?”

Upon hearing that, Samuel became interested.

Suppressing his displeasure toward Marion and her son, he asked Hector to open it for him to take a look.

With solemnity, Hector opened the box and took out a scroll. As he unfurled it, four words were revealed: To Have Students Everywhere!

Marion scoffed, “I thought it was an antique calligraphy and painting. Turns out it's just a regular piece of artwork.”

Just as she finished speaking, Hector couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, “Finnegan, is this written by Soren Caulder?”

The signature in the bottom left corner of the calligraphy was that of Soren's, accompanied by his unique seal.

Originally, Samuel was still admiring the calligraphy.

Upon hearing his son's exclamation, Samuel quickly looked at the signature and saw Soren's autograph. He couldn't help but express his surprise. “Finn, is this real?”

Finnegan nodded. “I once treated Old Mr. Caulder. Knowing your fondness for collecting calligraphy and paintings, I took the liberty of asking him to write this for you. Do you like it?”

After they had all entered, Marion swiftly took the car keys from Nicolette's hand and handed them to Braxler. “Nickie, when your parents agreed to the marriage, they promised to gift you a car worth more than two hundred thousand. For now, let Braxler drive this one. You can look forward to driving the new car!”

Nicolette's expression tensed up, wanting to oppose.

However, Marion didn't give her a chance at all. She dragged Braxler over to look at the car, acting as if it was their family's new car.

Inside the courtyard, Bernice happened to witness that scene and couldn't help but frown. She pulled Finnegan aside and whispered, “Nickie's fiancé and future mother-in-law are too much. If Nickie really marries into that family, she definitely won't be happy.”

Finnegan smiled and said, “Darling, feel free to speak your mind.”

Rolling her eyes at Finnegan, Bernice lowered her voice even more. “I believe you've noticed my family all dislike Braxler and his mother. They only compromised because of Nickie's insistence! Are you going to do something? Will you ease the worries of Granny and Granddad, preventing Nickie from jumping into the fire pit?”

With feigned difficulty, Finnegan said, “Darling, there's an old saying that goes 'one can destroy anything but a marriage.' Are you trying to shorten my lifespan?”

Upon hearing that, Bernice immediately guessed Finnegan's hidden intentions.

Meanie! She pouted before leaning in and whispered something into his ear.

Immediately, Finnegan's eyes lit up. He stole a glance at Bernice's lips. “It's a deal. I will definitely find a way to break them apart.”

Unaware of Finnegan's impending schemes, Marion and her son were outside, engrossed in staring at the cars.

The more they looked at the car, the more satisfied they became.

In a hushed tone, Marion instructed, “Braxler, next week, have Nicolette accompany you to the vehicle management office to transfer the ownership. This car must be under your name.”

“Will do. This car is mine!” Braxler grinned.
