What's going on? Theoden and Alisha were taken aback, unable to react momentarily.
The elites of the Wahlstrom family, who were cleaning up the scene, were completely in the dark.
But it was at that very moment that a dark figure suddenly emerged from the artificial hill where the silver needles were shot. Cloaked entirely in a night suit, it resembled a color-changing lizard.
A longsword, radiating a chilling glow, emerged, its sword aura vigorously dispersing all the hidden silver needles. They scattered gently, like tufts of down.
Spencer was the first to react, immediately bursting forth.
The person in black seemed to have anticipated this, and the long sword resonated. Wave after wave of fierce, invisible sword energy swept across.
At the same time, the aura of a Terra Realm fighter of Absolute Rank surged forward.
Spencer's face turned pale. “A Grandmaster of Absolute Rank!”
Without daring to take it lightly, he quickly reacted by retreating.
The person in black did not seize the opportunity to follow up with another attack.
Her figure abruptly spun mid-air, the long sword humming as it lunged toward Finnegan.
Even though there was still a distance of three meters between them, he could already feel the sword's aura brushing against his face.
Finnegan waved his hand, pushing away the still-bewildered Theoden and Alisha.
His body then swiftly darted to the side.
The sword's aura grazed past, causing several of the Wahlstrom family's elites to fall to the ground with agonizing screams, their lives extinguished instantly.
The person in black's pupils constricted sharply as if she hadn't expected Finnegan's reaction to be so swift.
But in a fleeting moment, the attack was again launched at Finnegan. The swinging of the long sword created waves of sword patterns, much like the mist kicked up when torrential rain hit the ground.
The ground was oddly split in two, with the green grass severed cleanly at the divide.
A tear had also appeared in Finnegan's clothing.
Involuntarily, his brows furrowed as he dodged once again.
This woman in black was not just a Grandmaster of Terra Realm but also an expert swordsman. Facing her head-on was not advantageous.
The woman in black was relentless, much like a snake refusing to let go of its prey. Several elites of the Wahlstrom family fell victim to her rampant sword aura, mercilessly slain.
Clearly, she was domineering.
Regaining his composure, Theoden commanded in a deep voice, “Fall back and surround the attacker!”
That was a Grandmaster of Absolute Rank, against whom even the elites of the Wahlstrom family stood no chance, even if they attacked together. All that was needed at the moment was to cut off the retreat path of the person in black.
Theoden believed that Finnegan had a way of handling the matter because the latter clearly knew beforehand that there was an assassin lurking in the shadows.
In the midst of his swift retreat, Finnegan deftly kicked up the body of an attacker, hurling it forward.
However, the swordsman in black didn't pause for a moment. After bisecting the attacker at the waist, the domineering aura of her sword continued to bear down on Finnegan as if intending to reduce him to a thousand pieces.
“This seems to be Winterthorn!” Forced to retreat, Spencer suddenly recognized the long sword in the hands of the woman in black and gasped in surprise.
Theoden's face drastically changed. “What? Are you saying this is Winterthorn of Bloody Winter, notorious from decades ago? Then, isn't this assassin none other than Tatiana?”
That person was Tatiana Howell.
For the contemporary youth, or even some middle-aged people in their forties and fifties, it was all very unfamiliar.
However, for people of Theoden's era, the mere mention of her would change their complexion.
Although she was a woman, she was also an assassin.
She was an assassin who once struck fear into countless people at the mere mention of her name.
The number of influential figures who met their end at her hands exceeded the count of both hands.
The most crucial point was that she was one of the three founders of Blood Moon, the world's second-deadliest assassin organization.
Spencer replied with a grave expression, “It's her. Thirty years ago, when she was only a Terra Realm fighter of Intermediate Rank, she attempted to assassinate my master, leaving him severely injured. I will never forget it. It was this very sword!”
Alisha exclaimed in surprise, “What? She was able to severely injure Mr. Helmuth Bach when she was a Terra Realm fighter of Intermediate Rank?”
At this point, Finnegan's face was filled with even more mockery. “Therefore, stop pretending. Deep down, you're still a shady assassin. Don't claim to be so upright and honorable!”
“Dare to mock me, will you? Today, I'll show you why you shouldn't insult a Grandmaster!” With a single step forward, she swiftly launched an attack on Finnegan.
Finnegan burst out laughing. “Mr. Klausen, there's no need for your intervention. I'm going to show this old hag what it means to defeat a Grandmaster!”
With a swift movement of his right hand, Finnegan summoned a long sword from thin air.
Tatiana exclaimed in surprise, “Retrieving objects through thin air? How could that be possible?”
Fighters were divided into four realms, namely Ether Realm, Terra Realm, Ether Realm, and Amber Realm.
Upon entering Amber Realm, the foundation of a fighter was forged.
In Enigma Realm, fighters could train their meridians and channel vital energy.
Only in Terra Realm could one freely manipulate their vital energy, enabling them to retrieve objects from a distance.
Tatiana was surprised because Finnegan was very young.
“As an assassin, losing focus could be fatal. Don't you understand?” While she was in a daze, Finnegan had already leaped high into the air, much like a roc spreading its wings.
The long sword was raised high, coming down in a sweeping slash.
A surge of ferocious blade energy descended in an instant.
Tatiana quickly gathered her focus, and as her Winterthorn flipped, hundreds of invisible sword energies whizzed to meet it.
All that could be heard was the sound of the air exploding as Finnegan landed and retreated seven steps.
Tatiana, on the other hand, had taken three steps back.
And yet, Finnegan had to retreat seven steps despite being the main aggressor, clearly indicating who was stronger and who was weaker.
Yet, Finnegan showed not the slightest hint of fear, his face instead filled with excitement and anticipation. His eyes burned with fervor as he exclaimed, “Excellent! Let's go again!”
With a cold and stern expression, Tatiana exclaimed, “You're a little monster!”
