The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1016

Kenneth was in total shock.

Franco was Lottie’s father. That meant Lottie was basically the little princess of Solenia. Charlotte was seriously rich.

After lunch, Charlotte cradled a glass of juice in her hands. Her voice came out raspy as she blinked slowly. “There’ll be two guests coming over tomorrow night.”

Everyone except Kenneth, who still looked like he’d seen a ghost, shot her puzzled looks.

Robert frowned. “Are they Anthony’s family?”

Samantha chimed in, “Isn’t it kind of early for a marriage proposal?”

Kevin agreed, “Definitely too soon. Lottie’s still so young. None of us are ready to let her go.”

While they talked, all three of them glanced at Anthony, their eyes practically screaming “don’t even think about it.”

Anthony could only give a helpless smile.

Charlotte shook her head, her cheeks turning a little pink. “It’s not that.”

She hesitated, biting her lip. “Kenneth knows what I’m talking about. He’ll fill you in. Just… trust me, these are people you all really want to see. Prepare yourselves, okay?”

The truth was, she worried they’d actually faint from the shock. That’s why she told Kenneth first, so he could break the news gently to Grandpa and everyone else.

After Charlotte left, Kenneth slid over next to Samantha and whispered, “Mom, what if I told you Nora came back to life? Would you believe me?”

Samantha turned her head slowly, put her orange down, and grabbed a stick from the side, brandishing it with a serious look.

“I swear, you’re losing your mind,” she said.

“Mom, I’m serious—”

“What do you mean serious?” Samantha was already emotional about Nora, and hearing Kenneth bring her up just made her angrier. She chased after him, waving the stick. “You think that’s something to joke about?!”

The car looked oddly familiar, like she’d seen it before…

Before she could piece it together, the door opened. A tall guy stepped out, carrying a black backpack.

He was looking down, smiling as he chatted with Charlotte.

“Isn’t that Charlotte?” Olivia’s friend recognized her right away, but not the guy with her.

They were both struck by his polished, elegant vibe. “Is that her boyfriend? He’s so handsome,” the friend whispered, obviously jealous.

Olivia’s fingers curled tightly and her eyes went cold. She let out a scoff. “So what if he’s good-looking? Her mom married my dad while she was already pregnant. It’s because her real dad was too embarrassing to show his face.”

Watching Anthony fix Charlotte’s hair, Olivia’s jealousy only grew. “Honestly, her mom was probably a mistress. She got pregnant and had to find someone like my dad to cover it up.”

Her friend’s eyes went wide. “Wait, are you serious?”

“So, Charlotte’s mom was a mistress… got pregnant before marriage… and found Olivia’s dad to take the blame? That means Charlotte’s illegitimate, right?”
