The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1184

She’d seen Charlotte’s hacking skills in action before. Honestly, if their scrambler lasted two days, that would already be impressive.

Olivia: That’s enough. In two days, I’ll fly out to the Isle of Veil. Wire me seventy million and I’ll hand it over myself.

Once the deal was sealed and the money was in her account, she’d be gone. Another country, off the grid, impossible to track down.

Marcia: Deal.

At the hotel, Hans, Jackson, and Adonis loaded the luggage into the car themselves. After making sure they hadn’t missed anything, Hans turned to Anthony. “Everything’s taken care of. Are you feeling alright?”

Anthony wore a black trench coat, the top buttons of his shirt undone. He still looked a little pale, probably from recovering after that high fever, and there were faint traces of bloodshot in his deep eyes. Still, he seemed alert, not as bad as they’d worried.

No one had expected the first round of medicine to hit so hard, not even Anthony, who almost couldn’t handle it.

“I can—”

He didn’t get to finish. Soft footsteps sounded behind him.

“Charlotte!” Hans called, more respectful than usual.

Anthony swallowed whatever he was about to say. He coughed weakly, putting on a show. “I’m still a bit under the weather, but it’s nothing serious.”

Hans fought to keep a straight face at Anthony’s sudden act.

“Where exactly?” Charlotte stepped closer, her fingertips pressing gently to his wrist. Her brows lifted, all cool confidence. “You really haven’t recovered.”

Anthony’s expression was almost comically grim, but Hans didn’t wait. He headed to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later with a bowl of thick, black medicine.

“Drink it,” Charlotte said, holding the bowl out to Anthony. Her eyes sparkled, just waiting to see his reaction.

Anthony had always hated medicine, especially the bitter stuff. But with Charlotte watching him, he took the bowl and finished it in one go.

He’d really set himself up for this.

Still, his pulse was a little weak. Maybe he really did need the extra dose.

“When are you planning to head back?” Anthony stopped pretending to be sick and took Charlotte’s hand, his voice soft.

“Tomorrow morning,” Charlotte said, glancing down at her phone. “Newell’s on the Isle of Veil. I’m going to meet him.”
