The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1196

All the clothes that smelled like smoke were packed up and tossed out. The whole villa got a deep clean, not a single trace of that scent left behind.

“Happy now, Mrs. Blair?” Anthony slipped her coat off, pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek, and spoke in a soft voice. “Go take a shower. I’ll handle everything with Olivia.”

The world really wasn’t that big. Olivia couldn’t hide forever.

“Alright.” Charlotte thought for a moment, then decided to keep her secret from him for a few more days. She’d wait until Olivia was dealt with first.

She headed to the bathroom. Anthony walked off to his study.

Helen came back in after dumping the trash, only to catch the maids whispering in the hallway.

“Why do you think Anthony quit smoking all of a sudden? Is Charlotte pregnant?”

Pregnant?

Helen jumped in right away to shut that down. “Don’t talk nonsense in here.” Charlotte was still so young, still in school. Just because they were engaged didn’t mean they’d rush into having a baby.

Besides, Anthony wasn’t that kind of guy.

Still, she couldn’t figure out why he’d suddenly quit smoking. Was there something going on? Were they actually trying for a baby?

After her shower, Charlotte dried her hair, pulled on some thick pajamas, and wrapped herself up snug before heading over to the study.

“Are you cold?”

Anthony noticed how bundled up she was, his gaze growing a little more intense as he asked quietly.

“A little.” Charlotte walked over and sat down beside him, her eyes drifting to his computer screen.

All the flight logs had already been checked. They’d found security footage of Olivia, but nothing under her actual name.

“Olivia must’ve used a fake passport,” Hans reported respectfully. “But even with that, we traced her flight through people she knew.”

Anthony called her name again. Charlotte finally looked up, a little dazed. “Oh.”

She’d been acting off ever since they got back from the party. Was something wrong? Was she hiding something from him on purpose?

Isle of Veil.

Damaris had people tailing the Hawk family, tracking their every move. At last, she got the news she’d been waiting for.

“Are you sure?” Damaris jumped to her feet, gripping the back of her chair, her voice bursting with excitement. “The person with the bracelet is in Novaria?”

Novaria was Newell’s secret base, hidden from the world. Finding someone there would be so much easier.

If she got her hands on that bracelet, not only could Newell’s illness be treated… there might finally be hope for the genetic mutation research, too.
