The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1227

Five guns pointed straight at Charlotte, all of them high-tech, heavy-duty weapons from The Hawk Family.

The five bodyguards holding them were tense, almost visibly shaking. Charlotte was notorious for causing chaos on the Isle of Veil, and facing her now, they looked as nervous as they felt.

“What are you waiting for? Kill Charlotte!” Rena shouted, crouching behind a burly guard. Her eyes sparkled with a wild, red glow as she watched Charlotte backed into a corner. “Do it! Kill her!”

If Charlotte died, every problem would disappear. That thought was written all over Rena’s face.

“Sorry, Charlotte,” the lead bodyguard muttered. He looked terrified, but he didn’t hesitate. He pulled the trigger.

The shot came fast, but Charlotte’s reflexes were faster. She narrowed her eyes, twisted her body, and the bullet just grazed her coat, barely missing her stomach.

That close call flipped a switch in her. In an instant, icy anger radiated from her, so intense it felt like the temperature in the room dropped.

She pressed one hand to her stomach, shielding it, and raised her gun with the other. Her eyes, cold and sharp, locked onto the men in front of her.

The four remaining bodyguards felt the weight of her threat. They tried to raise their guns, acting on pure instinct.

Before they could react, Charlotte moved. She dodged, and the room erupted in gunfire.

The first man dropped, hit in all four limbs. He collapsed, screaming in pain.

The others stared at him, horrified. They exchanged glances, refusing to believe Charlotte could really take on four armed men by herself, especially with the best weapons money could buy.

Still, they aimed at her, determined.

Charlotte changed her magazine, her lips curving into a cool, almost teasing smile. She pressed her palm to her lower belly, feeling the small, growing bump, and sighed. “Guess normal prenatal bonding is off the table, huh?”

Four more shots rang out, bullets cutting through the air toward her.

Once he was sure she was safe, Anthony turned to the bodyguards, his expression ice-cold. In just a few moves, he knocked every one of them down.

Right then, Jackson and Adonis rushed over with their men, forming a protective circle around Charlotte and Anthony.

Anyone who tried to get close was taken out, fast and efficient.

In a matter of minutes, the floor was littered with bodies. The damage was brutal.

Seeing how quickly the tables had turned, the Hawk and Churchill families hesitated, afraid to make another move.

Anthony finally turned back to Charlotte, gently pressing her neck as he checked her over. “Are you hurt?”

She shook her head, pressing herself close to his chest. The steady beat of his heart calmed her instantly, chasing away the storm of fear and adrenaline.
