The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1258

Charlotte took a bite of her cream cake, propping her chin on her left hand, looking completely at ease. “Yeah.”

Andrew and Parrish just stared at her, lost for words.

Shirley and Stella were the same—everyone seemed frozen, their faces a mess of surprise and confusion.

“You’re actually having a baby?” Shirley was the first to snap out of it. She jumped up and hurried over to Charlotte, her eyes round with excitement. “This is wild. I’m a godmother, just like that.”

“Are you feeling okay?” Stella chimed in, her worry obvious as she studied Charlotte. “And the baby, is everything alright?”

“We’re good.” Charlotte blinked, then grabbed another slice of cake and started eating again. “You guys better start saving up for gifts. I’ll keep them safe for the baby.”

Nobody knew what to say to that.

Satisfied, Charlotte got up from her seat. “It’s getting late, I’m heading out.”

On her way, she made sure to grab one more slice, happily munching as she walked.

“Charlotte, you just ate three pieces of cake. Aren’t you getting sick of it? Or at least full?” Andrew couldn’t keep quiet anymore, watching her dive into her dessert without a care.

He had just gotten a text from Anthony, telling him to keep an eye on Charlotte and not let her eat anything she shouldn’t, especially not so much sugar.

Anthony already treated Charlotte like she was made of glass, and now, with a baby on the way… If anything happened, Andrew would never hear the end of it.

Charlotte paused, turned around with a perfectly serious face, and said, “One piece for each baby, and one for me. Is that too much?”

“Not at all.”

All four of them shook their heads, but then it hit them. They looked up all at once. “Wait, what?”

Two babies?

Try? That was all he could do?

“If something goes wrong, just please don’t throw me under the bus,” Dr. David said. He was already nervous, even though nothing had happened yet. He gave a weak laugh. “If it gets bad, maybe you can ask her to go easy on me. At least let me keep my body in one piece.”

“Go easy on you?” Anthony covered his face, his laugh tired and edged with resignation. “I’ll probably be gone before you even get the chance.”

There was a long silence.

Dr. David, having seen enough, just hung up.

Right then, another call came in. It was Hans.

“Anthony, I got Mr. Churchill’s DNA!”
