The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1260

Charlotte took a sip from her cup, feeling a chill settle over her. She was definitely in a mood.

“So, Newell’s been tracking the gene mutation just to find a cure for Mr. Churchill?” Charlotte turned to the side, raising an eyebrow. “If that’s true, then why did he kidnap Mr. Churchill and use him as a hostage against me?”

Did Newell want Mr. Churchill alive or dead? The whole thing made zero sense.

“Don’t stress about it. Once we find Newell, everything will come out.” Anthony ruffled Charlotte’s hair, trying to ease her worries. “I’ll keep looking into it.”

“If Mr. Churchill is Newell’s son, there’s no way he’d use him for experiments…” Charlotte leaned back in her seat, eyes sharp as she studied Anthony’s face. “This is starting to get complicated.”

“We’ll figure something out.”

Anthony looked away, a little too quickly, and gripped the steering wheel tighter. He spoke quietly, “If the antidote is safe, we might not need clinical trials.”

Sure, it was possible, but the odds were close to zero.

Watching Anthony’s steady, serious face, Charlotte fell silent. Was this idiot hiding something? Had he tested the dangerous drug on himself?

...

Imperial Heights.

As soon as they got to the entrance, three cars caught their eye in the parking lot.

The Hummer belonged to Donald.

The Bentley was Roger’s.

His age wasn’t the problem? Was Roger trying to insult Anthony and cover himself at the same time?

“Enough talking,” Donald grunted, flexing his wrists. He still hadn’t changed out of his uniform from the airport and looked every bit the tough guy. The maids and bodyguards around the room were frozen, barely breathing. Was Anthony actually going to get beaten up today?

Honestly, none of them had seen anything like this. It was almost exciting.

Anthony didn’t move, bracing himself for whatever was coming.

Just then, a sudden wave of nausea hit, and Charlotte dry-heaved in the middle of the room.

All three brothers instantly turned their attention to her.

Charlotte patted her stomach and looked up, her expression serious. “You guys are making such a fuss. The babies must really love their uncles.”
