“Then what’s the point?” G5’s confusion was clear in her eyes.
“To finish what my grandmother started. She wanted to use genetic mutation to help medicine.”
G5 just stood there, taking it all in. For a moment, she didn’t say anything, then let out a quiet sigh. “If only Allanson had understood this from the beginning.”
If G1 could see this, she’d finally be at peace.
“G5, what if I asked you to join me in the research?” Charlotte’s lips curved into a gentle smile, her tone sincere. “Would you say yes?”
“Join you?” G5’s eyes flashed with surprise, a mix of old feelings and new hope surfacing.
Charlotte nodded, her features softening. She knew G5 would understand, so she didn’t bother explaining more. “Grandma… would you help me fulfill her wish?”
The word “grandma” caught G5 off guard. She hesitated, lost in thought.
