The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1613

Stella’s smile faltered, the words she was about to say swallowed back before they left her lips.

“Charlotte, don’t you have two kids?” Andrew lifted his cocktail, lazily crossing his legs as he grinned. “How about giving one to me?” He was pretty sure he’d never fall for anyone else. If Shirley didn’t want him, he’d just spend the rest of his days alone. Having a kid around to look after him didn’t sound so bad.

The rooftop’s weird shape meant Stella sat facing the entrance, while everyone else was hidden from view.

She coughed into her hand, an obvious warning.

“You know what, just give me both kids.” Andrew finished off half his drink in one go. His cheeks were flushed, and his eyes had that tipsy, unfocused look. He started rambling without a care in the world. “That way you’ll be single again. You can go find yourself another handsome guy.”

Stella shot him a panicked glance, coughing more, trying to make him stop.

“Is your throat sore?” Andrew, clueless as ever, handed her a bottle of water and just kept talking. “There are so many guys out there. You can just take your pick.”

Stella pressed her hands to her face in despair, wishing she could dig a hole and push Andrew right into it. He was hopeless. Not only was he trying to steal Charlotte’s kids, he was basically telling her to date other men.

“Stella, are you okay?” Shirley, convinced she was actually unwell, leaned over with worry.

From her new angle, Shirley spotted Anthony standing motionless by the entrance. His face was impossibly cold and those dark eyes stared right in their direction.

Anthony. It was really him.
