The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1615

“Should we help them?”

Shirley stared with wide, startled eyes, her voice barely a whisper. “I really hope they don’t start fighting…”

All three of them looked toward the commotion. Before they could even focus, Anthony suddenly caught Charlotte’s wrist and stood up in one smooth motion, shifting direction. He hooked his long legs over a chair and sat down swiftly.

A moment later, Charlotte was nestled in his lap, locked in his arms and held tight.

The guys who had been watching for drama couldn’t help but twitch their lips.

Alright then. Guess their worry was pointless.

“Still mad at me?”

Anthony steadied Charlotte with a hand at her waist, took the jacket from Hans, and gently draped it over her shoulders. His lips curved with obvious affection.

Charlotte tried to wiggle free but gave up, letting her weight sink into him. Her clear eyes rested on Anthony’s undeniably handsome face.

He’s actually smiling? How can he still be smiling right now?

“If you’re that upset, just wait till we get home. You can take it out on me then.” Anthony dipped his head, lightly brushing his nose against hers, his voice low and soothing. “Just go easy on me in public, okay?”

As he spoke, he nodded toward Andrew and the others.

“Wow, can’t let your pride take a hit, huh,” Charlotte shot back, glancing at the group. Everyone who’d been silently watching the scene quickly tensed and turned away, pretending to mind their own business.

“I am your fiancé,” Anthony said, seeing her mood ease. He pressed a little further with a teasing smile. “My dignity’s your dignity, don’t you think?”

Charlotte held his gaze, her lips curving into a slow, lazy smile. Her voice was soft and a little playful. “If you ever pull something like this again…”
