The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1689

“Proof?”

The question wiped the smile right off Pandora’s face. When Charlotte claimed she had evidence, she never bluffed. Pandora’s heart went cold. Was it possible…?

Charlotte eased into her chair, rested her chin lightly on her pale hand, and leveled an unhurried, steady gaze on Pandora. “I can recreate fingerprints even after they’re destroyed,” she drawled. “Do you really think I’d have trouble recovering a few chat logs and calls?”

Pandora stood frozen, unable to believe what she was hearing. All the color faded from her cheeks.

“Adonis.”

At that simple command, Charlotte glanced at Adonis. Within seconds, the big screen lit up with chat screenshots. The messages spelled things out in black and white. Pandora wasn’t just complicit, she was actively stoking Karan’s hatred, egging him on. She even brought up the scholarship ceremony, calling it the perfect day to ruin Shirley. Pushed by all the bitterness and manipulation, Karan went down a path of no return. The truth was, Karan had actually started to move past it last time. But sometimes, the person turning the crank behind the scenes is even more dangerous than the one actually pulling the trigger.

Once the screenshots finished scrolling through, audio logs started playing. Every call between Pandora and Karan, the evidence piled up, proving exactly how involved she’d been from the start.

Now, faced with the sheer weight of it all, Pandora’s earlier bravado collapsed. Her face turned completely ashen, like every ounce of confidence had been drained.

Charlotte looked like the devil herself.

Gallagher’s face was drawn and grave. He’d been desperate to protect his granddaughter, but now, his options had run out. Pleading with Patricia would go nowhere. The only shot left was Charlotte.

“Charlotte…” Gallagher’s voice trembled. He looked even older now, hunched and exhausted, the fight leaving him. “It was my fault for not keeping a closer eye on them. She’s young, she didn’t understand what she was doing. Can’t you let it go, just this once? I promise, I’ll keep her in line. This will never happen again.”

Charlotte didn’t answer right away. Her eyes flicked to Andrew, and he stepped forward politely to help Gallagher stand straight.
