The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 2026

Desserts were her specialty, after all.

"Is that a promise?"

Seeing her absolute sincerity, Roger leaned in close, his voice dropping an octave.

"Mhm."

Stella didn't even think twice. She nodded immediately. "I'll go make it right now."

As soon as the words left her mouth, she tried to stand up.

But before her feet could even touch the floor, she was yanked right back.

Before she could process what was happening, her chin was captured, and the man's strikingly handsome face filled her vision.

A split second later, warm lips crashed down onto hers. His scorching breath consumed every last ounce of Stella's rationality.

She was stunned.

Stella's eyes flew wide open in shock, staring helplessly at the man in front of her.

His assault only deepened. Her limbs turned to jelly, and her head began to spin.

The man slowly trailed his kisses down her jawline, pressing his lips to the skin exposed by her collar.

Stella was wearing pajamas, and in the heat of the moment, the fabric had slid loosely off her shoulder.

"Roger—"

The moment she felt his hand brush against the massive scar on her back, all the color drained from Stella's face. She panicked and began to struggle wildly.

"It's okay."

Roger held her tightly. Under the dim, golden glow of the room, he looked at the jagged scars marring her skin.

She froze.

Stella bit her lip so hard it turned white, hot tears spilling down her cheeks and landing on Roger's arm.

The scorching heat of her tears instantly snapped him out of his daze. He sat up straight and met the girl's gaze. "Why are you crying?"

She couldn't speak.

Stella clenched her fists, her lip trembling.

That was her deepest, darkest secret. The pain she never wanted anyone else to witness.

"I saw them."

Roger reached up, gently wiping the tears from her face. His voice was incredibly tender. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. I have plenty of scars on my body too."

"What?"

All the sadness from moments ago had completely vanished.

"I don't mind the scars on your body, so please don't mind mine."

Saying that, he kissed her tear-stained eyes, his voice laced with pure seduction. "Let's never bring this up again. Okay?"

Stella looked at him, her eyes still damp and red.

Her most shameful, humiliating past was now completely laid bare before him.

From now on...

It felt like there was truly nothing left to hide.

"Okay."

The girl looked into his eyes and gave a small nod.

"Also..." The man was in an excellent mood. He leaned in, affectionately bumping his nose against hers, and whispered huskily, "I haven't had enough dessert yet. Let's have a little more."

Dessert?

Stella blanked for a second before she finally caught on.

The next second, his lips came crashing down again.
