The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 2039

"What's wrong?"

Seeing the strange look on Charlotte's face, Emily instinctively leaned in closer.

It couldn't be that fast, right? She had only just touched it...

But before she could even stand up, the man who was supposed to be busy in the kitchen had somehow sprinted to his wife's side. He leaned down, pulling her into his arms, resting his palm on her round belly as he stared at her face, asking worriedly, "Does your stomach hurt?"

"A little."

Charlotte frowned and gave a slight nod.

This was her first time giving birth, so she didn't have any experience.

But it was her due date, and her stomach hurt, so it was probably time.

"Get the car ready." Anthony barked the order at Hans, picking his wife up to leave. But just as he turned, he heard the girl's voice again: "Wait."

"What is it?"

Anthony stopped, looking at her anxiously, terrified she was in pain.

Twins were just too dangerous.

"The money..." Charlotte leaned against his chest, her eyes fixed on the table, her voice slightly hoarse. "Nobody paid out for this round yet."

Stella: "..."

Emily: "..."

Everyone else: "..."

"Here, here, here." Kenneth jumped out, rubbing his temples in utter defeat. "You're unbelievable."

Even at a time like this, she couldn't let it go.

"Let's go."

Anthony kissed his wife's forehead and carried her out.

The Madam was going into labor, and the entire villa descended into utter chaos.

In less than five minutes, both the Blair and Gates families heard the news and rushed to the hospital in a frenzy.

The media somehow got wind of it. Hearing that the future "little tyrants" of Cabinda were about to be born, they grabbed their cameras and sprinted to the hospital, desperate for an exclusive.

"How is she?"

Patricia leaned on her cane, staring anxiously at the examination room doors, her face covered in cold sweat.

"They're still examining her," Emily answered honestly. "Don't worry, Grandma. Charlotte will be absolutely fine."

Inside the examination room.

Anthony grabbed his coat, draped it over his wife's shoulders, and wrapped his arm around her as they walked out.

When they stepped out and saw the hallway packed with people, the two shared an awkward glance.

"They're just messing around. It's a false alarm," Charlotte said, her lips twitching with a helpless sigh.

"..."

The crowd let out a collective breath of relief, but they couldn't help feeling a little disappointed.

They thought they'd get to see the two little ones tonight. Their hearts had been in their throats.

"So naughty, and they aren't even born yet." Patricia patted Charlotte's belly, speaking with deep affection. "They're definitely going to be a handful."

Still reeling from the scare, the families headed back to their respective homes in a whirlwind.

The reporters outside also shook their heads and dispersed.

--

Imperial Heights.

After taking a shower, Charlotte lay down on the bed.

Anthony walked over with a towel and a hairdryer, gently drying the girl's hair.
