The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 2129

"Are you just vacationing in Brazil?"

The woman snapped out of her daze, her intense gaze drifting back to Charlotte's face.

She had encountered plenty of Eldorians over the years.

But for some inexplicable reason, this young woman gave her an overwhelming sense of familiarity.

Was it because...

she looked so incredibly similar to him?!

"Gift shopping?" the woman continued before Charlotte could answer, glancing at her bags. "Those crystal spheres are gorgeous. Very tasteful."

"..."

Charlotte stared quietly at this overly friendly woman, giving a slightly perplexed nod. "For my husband."

"Your husband."

The woman finished gathering her things and took a step closer. The raw tenderness in her eyes clashed violently with her fierce makeup. "There's this thing, it's called..."

She stumbled over her Eldorian, clearly struggling to find the exact vocabulary.

"You can speak English,"

Charlotte kindly offered. "I'm perfectly fluent."

"..."

The woman tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, her red lips curving into a sad smile. "I want to speak Eldorian."

Ever since he left, she couldn't even remember the last time she had spoken the language out loud.

"Let me just show you." Unable to find the words, the woman impulsively reached out to grab Charlotte's hand.

"..."

Charlotte flinched, instinctively taking two massive steps back, a flash of ice crossing her eyes.

Wasn't this a little too aggressive?

Was this some elaborate scam to drag her into an overpriced boutique?

But judging by her million-dollar aura, she certainly didn't look like a desperate salesperson.

"I am so, so sorry."

Sensing Charlotte's blatant repulsion, the woman frantically waved her hands. "Please don't misunderstand. I just got overly emotional seeing someone from your country."

"The item I want to recommend is just down that indoor avenue." The woman stared at Charlotte without blinking, her voice dropping into a soft, heartbroken cadence as she clearly envisioned her ex through the girl's features. "Don't worry, the entire corridor is heavily monitored."

"I... I promise I'm not a bad person."

Charlotte turned her head, studying the woman intently. She realized that while she was smiling, she radiated a suffocating wave of despair that practically demanded sympathy.

Was she truly captivated by Eldoria?

No, she was mourning her ex.

"We're here."

After a ten-minute walk, they stopped in front of a shop with a rich, impossibly vintage facade.

The glass displays were filled with breathtaking, top-tier agate pieces.

"Miss Darnell?"

The owner, an older Brazilian man in his fifties, looked up and gasped in surprise when he saw the woman. "It's been an eternity since you last graced my shop."

"It really has."

Tansy Darnell gave a faint nod. She scanned the familiar interior, her eyes glazing over as she murmured, "It's been nearly four years."

He was the one who had brought her here the first time.

"Oh, right." Hearing the owner use her name snapped Tansy back to reality. She realized she had never formally introduced herself.

"Eldorian etiquette." After a two-second hesitation, she extended her hand toward Charlotte. "Hello. My name is Tansy Darnell."
