The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 436

Inside the car.

Anthony leaned back in the rear seat, his hand warm on Charlotte’s waist, phone pressed to his ear.

“Track down ‘Sunset.’ Do whatever it takes to buy it.”

His deep, calm voice drifted over to Charlotte, making her pause. She almost smiled, her lips curving just a little.

“They’re refusing to sell?”

Anthony’s brows drew together as he listened. “Twenty million is the ceiling. It’s just a painting—how could it possibly be worth more?”

No matter how talented the artist was, that kind of price was ridiculous.

Charlotte stayed quiet, lips pressed together.

“Offer more.”

A few seconds ticked by. Anthony’s face tensed, his voice dropping even lower. “I don’t care how much it costs. Get it.”

He could already picture giving the painting to Lottie, letting her present it to his grandmother. Patricia would be over the moon.

“Yes, Anthony.”

The reply was brisk and respectful. The call ended.

Charlotte closed her game and, right in front of Anthony, opened her social media app.

A new message popped up from Adonis. Charlotte, the buyer just offered thirty million for ‘Sunset.’

People had been coming out of the woodwork for that painting lately.

If he’d known ‘Sunset’ was worth this much, he never would have stashed it in storage.

Charlotte tapped the screen, her pale fingers moving quickly. She arched a brow and typed back. One billion.

One billion? Wasn’t that supposed to be ten million?

Adonis stared at the number, his mouth twitching. He always thought he was a bit greedy, but Charlotte made him look downright modest.
