Charlotte frowned and glanced at the checkout counter. When she saw the big bold letters on the box, her expression froze, turning instantly innocent. She honestly hadn’t realized that was a box of condoms.

A couple minutes passed before the cashier, her ears bright red, finally asked, “Which box do you want?”

“The one on the left.” Anthony slid an arm around Charlotte’s waist and bent down to murmur in her ear, his voice low and a little rough. “The one on the right is too small. Wouldn’t work for us.”

Charlotte went completely still. For a second, her heart felt like it skipped a beat, sending heat rushing through her body. She honestly wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.

“Did you get that? Next time, grab the right one.” Anthony’s voice was casual, but Charlotte shot him a glare. Her mind was a mess, but she forced herself to act calm, shoving him away and mumbling, “Just pay for it.”
