Back then, nobody paid them much attention, but under N’s lead, they shot up from a no-name crew to a force everyone in Apex had to respect. For a while, they were the only ones who could stand toe-to-toe with X Organization.

Three years ago, he’d seen those two groups go at it. It was chaos, pure and simple. Blood everywhere, the whole of Apex thrown into turmoil. People still talked about that fight for control, shaking their heads in disbelief.

Now, the two leaders were about to meet again. N was technically at a disadvantage, but you’d never know it. He carried himself with this icy, commanding presence that made everyone in the room feel like he was calling all the shots. Looking at him, you’d guess he was barely twenty. No wonder he’d managed to slip away from Anthony.

Hans kept sneaking glances at Charlotte, who caught him looking and shot back a glare so cold it made his heart skip a beat.

“N, this way, please.”

“Lead on,” Charlotte replied, her voice flat. As she walked off, she glanced over her shoulder at Jackson and Adonis. “Wait for me out here.”

Jackson gave a respectful nod. “Yes.”

Adonis just smirked. “Got it.”

Hans frowned at N’s two cocky guys. N was intimidating enough, but why were his men so full of themselves too? They strolled in like they owned the place, not the slightest bit nervous. Was it all an act? Hans pressed his lips together and quietly pulled out his phone, texting for backup to beef up security around the base.

Adonis caught the move and just crossed his arms, chin raised, looking totally at ease. “You know, we are your guests. Don’t you have any manners? Not even a chair or a cup of tea for us?”

The X Organization guards clutched their guns, eyeing the two like they were about to start something. Tea? They didn’t seem like they were here to make trouble.
