“Nicely done.” Letty smiled, looking way too satisfied. “I bet the International Medical Department already got the complaint. With this much noise, there’s no way they’ll just ignore it.”

She was just waiting for Charlotte’s name to disappear from the competition list.

Anthony was in the middle of a meeting when the scandal popped up on his phone. He didn’t even try to hide his reaction. “That’s it for today.”

He flipped through the news, his expression turning icy, and walked out of the conference room without another word. The execs just stared after him, completely lost.

This was the second time he’d ditched them like this. Both times, it had something to do with his girlfriend.

“Lottie...” He called Charlotte as he made his way back to his office, his voice softening. “Are you at school?”

“I’m heading to Apex Mediaworks.”

Charlotte sounded sleepy, like she’d just woken up. She didn’t seem bothered at all by the chaos online.

Hearing her voice, Anthony felt his tension melt away. A small smile tugged at his lips. “Going to see Kenneth? Are you finally going to go public?”

“Yeah...” Charlotte stretched, checked her phone, and spotted a message from Kenneth. She replied, Let them keep stirring things up. We’ll handle it all at once later. Then she went back to Anthony. “They brought this on themselves.”

“Alright.”

Anthony let out a low laugh, his tone full of warmth. “You head over first. I’ll be there soon.”

He was one of the people caught up in the rumors, so he figured he might as well use this chance to make things official... and let everyone know Charlotte had a boyfriend.

Charlotte agreed and hung up. She looked over at Jackson in the passenger seat. “Who was it?”

“IP is from The Cabinda University, medical building. Real name’s Carmelita.”

“No need. I’ll have them come down.”

She pulled out her phone and typed in the group chat, The weather’s great today. Looks like you’re all getting another sister. She attached a photo of herself outside Apex Mediaworks.

Upstairs, Donald and Kenneth were deep in a heated discussion about how to handle the situation. They’d basically decided they’d give up anything if it meant Charlotte wouldn’t get hurt. Then they saw her message. Both froze for a second, then bolted for the door at nearly the same moment.

Lottie had made her decision. She was going public.

Both brothers wanted to be the first to reach her. But Kenneth wasn’t exactly athletic, and after a few steps, Donald left him far behind.

“Donald, you’re a machine!”

Donald barely broke a sweat after tearing down thirty flights of stairs.
