Leif threw his head back, grinning as he looked at Charlotte, eager for a little recognition. “We’ve got God under control. He’s all yours now.”

Charlotte kept her eyes steady on Anthony. When she heard Leif, her lips twitched, but her voice stayed cool. “Thanks.”

“Huh?”

Leif blinked, surprised by that random thank you. “You don’t have to thank me, Nine. God’s the enemy of everyone in N Organization.”

Catching him was something every member was expected to do.

Charlotte’s attention drifted from Leif and she started to walk forward, long legs moving with purpose.

“Nine, wait!”

As soon as Charlotte moved, Leif jumped in front of her, blocking her path, his face tight with worry. “God’s acting really strange today. Who knows what he’s planning.”

God was always calculating, ruthless too. Better to be careful.

“Alright.”

Charlotte stopped and leaned against the hood of the car, her eyes clear as she looked at Anthony. She sounded almost bored as she said, “Then you come here.”
