Only Asclepius was supposed to see that sky-high order.
So how did Lottie know about it?
Wait.
Did that mean…
She really was Asclepius?
The world-famous Asclepius, the legendary healer everyone talked about, was actually his daughter?
Franco just stood there, stunned. His sharp features looked even paler than usual, and his dark brown eyes were locked on Charlotte as if she might vanish at any second. He struggled to get the words out. “Lottie, are you really Asclepius?”
Charlotte just smiled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Why? Do I not look the part?”
Franco opened his mouth but nothing came out.
It wasn’t that she didn’t seem like Asclepius. He just couldn’t wrap his head around it.
Asclepius.
The head of the N Organization.
Lottie was only nineteen.
Each of those identities was mind-blowing on its own.
“Lottie is Asclepius?”
Nora, lying in bed, went pale as soon as she heard the conversation. Her heart raced with unease as she stared at Charlotte.
Asclepius’s medical skills were legendary. Two years ago, she’d burst onto the scene with cures for mysterious illnesses, saving dying patients and making waves in the medical field.
Since then, people from all over the world, and from every organization, had been trying to track her down. But Asclepius had never shown her face. Nobody knew where she was from or even if she was a man or a woman.
Lottie was nineteen now.
Two years ago…
She would’ve been sixteen or seventeen when she started pulling off medical miracles?
“I just know how to treat a few simple things,” Charlotte said, smoothing out Nora’s pillow with an easy calm.
Charlotte found the right spot and inserted the needle, her movements gentle and steady.
Based on all the tests, this was the best treatment right now.
After about ten minutes, she finished.
Nora already looked much better. Her face had more color, and her whole energy had changed.
Charlotte put away her needles and leaned closer, hands on the bed. Her eyes were bright and clear as she whispered, “I have to go now.”
“So soon?”
Nora’s eyes filled with tears as she looked at Charlotte, her voice trembling with reluctance. “Can’t you stay just a little longer?”
“Patricia’s condition is getting worse, and she really needs Covid-X.” Charlotte reached out and tucked Nora’s hair away from her forehead, her voice patient and soft. “I’ll come back to see you again.”
“Lottie…”
Nora couldn’t hold back anymore. She wrapped her arms around Charlotte’s slender shoulders, her voice thick with tears. “I don’t want you to go.”
