The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 905

“All of X Organization’s medical research centers, plus Apex Pharmaceuticals, are yours to run however you want.”

Anthony draped a cashmere coat softly over Charlotte’s shoulders. His hand settled at her waist, steady and warm.

“All of them?” Charlotte looked up at Anthony, her eyes bright and a little skeptical. “Anything I want?”

He met her gaze, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “You’re my wife. What’s wrong with taking charge of your own family’s business?” Leaning in, Anthony took a playful bite of the candy she was holding. He lingered just a second, then pulled back, licking his lips. “Sweet.”

Charlotte felt a shiver run through her, but not the bad kind. Suddenly, the tension and worry she’d been carrying seemed to fade away.

“Alright, I’ll start making executive decisions right now.” She popped the candy back in her mouth, let herself relax against Anthony, and closed her eyes.

Anthony watched her settle in, a gentle look softening his features. There was a hint of pride and affection in his smile.

By seven that evening, their private jet touched down at Cabinda International Airport.

After they landed, Anthony wrapped his arm around Charlotte, shielding her from the biting wind as they made their way out of the terminal.

The Blair family had arranged a car. As soon as they appeared, Andrew, waiting by the door, perked up straight away.

“Anthony, Charlotte.”

Anthony barely acknowledged him, just gave a brief glance before looking down at Charlotte, who looked exhausted, her eyes barely open. “Ready to head to the Blair Estate?” His voice was gentle, almost coaxing.

“Yeah,” Charlotte replied quietly. She glanced at Andrew, who looked like he might faint from nerves, and said in a low voice, “Get in. I need to ask you something.”

Andrew’s eyes widened. He got to ride with Charlotte? “Okay!” He grinned, ignoring Anthony’s icy stare, and hopped into the car with way more confidence than usual, parking himself right next to Charlotte.

“Charlotte, you must be starving after Solenia’s food, right?” Andrew said, pulling out a box of desserts. “I brought your favorite—straight from that bakery you love.”

Charlotte glanced at the label. Oh, right. She’d forgotten she owned a rooftop restaurant, too.

She grabbed a fork, sliced off a bite of cake, and put it in her mouth.

“And I got you milk tea. Half sugar, extra ice.”

Once she’d finished her milk tea, Charlotte was in a much better mood. She leaned back against Anthony and turned to Andrew. “So, what’s been going on here while I was gone?”

“Stella’s either in class or at the library every day. She’s good. Shirley’s got a physics competition coming up and she’s been running around like crazy…”

Charlotte listened carefully, then cut off a piece of cake and, almost without thinking, held it up for Anthony.

Anthony’s irritation melted away. He took the bite from her fork without a word.

“What about the traditional medicine department?” she asked.

Andrew smiled. “You’re kind of a legend there. No one has anything bad to say.”

“That’s good.” Charlotte handed the rest of the cake to Anthony, then pulled out a vial of Covid-X and her laptop.

Anthony fed her bites of cake while she focused on her data, taking notes and making observations.

About halfway to their destination, Hans’s phone suddenly rang.
