The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 912

Charlotte shot him a questioning look.

“Ours.” Anthony corrected himself, his arm tightening around her.

“…Okay.” Charlotte pressed her lips together and blinked.

He wasn’t wrong.

After dinner, they headed to Patricia’s room. Patricia was awake, but with all the tubes and wires, she couldn’t really move. At the sound of the door, her eyes turned slowly. As soon as she saw Charlotte, her lips curved into a warm, loving smile.

“Grandma.” Charlotte went over and took her hand, her eyes soft and gentle. “Everything’s fine now. Just rest. You’ll get better soon.”

“Good girl.” Patricia mouthed the words. She turned to Anthony, struggling to speak. “Take care of Charlotte.”

“I will, Grandma.”

Since Patricia needed peace and quiet, they didn’t stay long. After a while, Anthony took Charlotte and left the house.

They didn’t go back to their bedroom or to Imperial Heights. Instead, Anthony drove straight to The Gates Estate.

Charlotte curled up in the passenger seat, glancing out the window without much interest. She took out her phone, opened her social app, and found Dr. David.

Nine: What’s up with my mom’s test results?

She waited. After a minute, Dr. David replied.

Dr. David: The report’s out, but something about it is odd.

Nine: I’ll come to the lab tomorrow morning.

Charlotte ended the chat, switched off her phone, and looked sideways at Anthony in the driver’s seat. He was watching her, face tense and guarded.

She pressed her lips together, silent.

Kenneth scoffed. “These hands are made for playing piano and making money. Unless she writes me a couple of songs, I just can’t…”

He kept grumbling, but still stood up and rolled up his sleeves, ready to help.

Just then, he spotted Charlotte in the doorway.

He froze, the rest of his sentence stuck in his throat.

“Can’t what?” Charlotte asked, her hand in Anthony’s, eyes bright and amused as she looked at Kenneth. “Go on, say it.”

Kenneth lost his nerve. His annoyed look disappeared and he forced a smile. “I just can’t believe how lucky I am!”

Anthony’s dark eyes narrowed, a smile tugging at his lips.

“Not only is Kenneth a great pianist, his acting’s pretty good too.”

Kenneth was left speechless.
