The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 935

Beck clutched his iPad, staring at the woman in front of him who called herself Dr. Cole. His throat felt tight, like something was stuck there.

It took him a long time to finally blink and find his voice. When he spoke, it came out rough and shaky. “You…”

Charlotte crossed her legs, her fingers tapping gently on the table. The sound echoed through the room, picked up by the microphone, each tap thudding in everyone’s chest. No one dared make a sound.

The tension in the room grew even thicker.

“I—”

Beck’s mouth opened, but nothing came out. He just couldn’t believe it.

It was impossible. How could Charlotte be the legendary physics genius? And on top of that, a medical prodigy too? Was the universe just handing her all the talent?

Charlotte’s lips curled into a smile, her face glowing under the lights. She looked straight at Beck, eyebrow raised, then walked right up to him and held out her hand.

“Let me have it.”

Beck hesitated, but eventually handed her the iPad.

Charlotte took it without missing a beat, her fingers moving quickly across the screen. Suddenly, the big screen behind her went black.

People started whispering. Was she trying to delete the evidence?

Before anyone could figure it out, the screen flashed back on—this time showing the login page for the Global Physics Research Center.

There were fewer than twenty people in the whole world who had an account there. Dr. Cole was the only one from Eldoria, and the only woman.

Everyone knew Dr. Cole’s username, and some people had even tried to hack her account to steal her research. No one had ever succeeded.

Charlotte looked up at Beck, whose face had gone pale. Her voice was calm, almost lazy. “So, I gave Shirley a book. What’s the big deal?”

She met his eyes. “Shirley read my book. You read my book. Actually, you saw it before she did. If you couldn’t beat her on the exam, maybe you should look at yourself instead of blaming her.”

Beck just stood there, frozen. It felt like all the blood had drained out of him. His mind was buzzing so loudly he couldn’t think straight.

Charlotte turned back to the crowd. “This test did pull from my book a little, but just reading it doesn’t mean you’ll get the answers right.”

She glanced at Shirley, who looked just as stunned. Charlotte’s voice softened. “Why don’t you explain to everyone how you solved those questions?”

“…Okay.”

Shirley was nervous, but after a moment, she took a breath and steadied herself. “Those questions weren’t just from Charlotte’s—um, Dr. Cole’s—book. I used ideas from these other books too…”
