The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 946

Anthony wasn’t so easy to trick anymore. He’d learned his lesson.

Charlotte updated the firewall on her phone, then did the same for Jackson and Adonis. She checked to make sure Anthony couldn’t hack in, then let herself smile, just a little.

“Let’s get moving,” she said, tossing her phone aside. “Take the city center.”

If the GPS was blocked, Anthony would look up the cars leaving the airport at the same time. The city center was the best place to lose a tail.

“On it,” Jackson replied. He slammed the gas pedal, and the black sports car shot forward.

At the same time, Anthony walked out of the airport, already checking his phone for Charlotte’s location.

Location not found.

He tried Jackson and Adonis. Same thing.

Location not found.

“Anthony, she’s put up a firewall. We can’t get through,” Hans said after trying a few more times. He lowered his voice, nervous. “I think she’s onto us.”

Anthony’s expression went dark, a cold energy settling around him.

He thought he’d finally figured out Charlotte’s tricks, thought he’d catch her off guard. But he hadn’t expected this at all. Charlotte never even meant to hide—it was all part of her plan. She let him come to Isle of Veil, then ditched him the second they landed. Wherever she was going today must be dangerous. She didn’t want him involved.

“Give me everything we found on her,” Anthony said, his jaw clenched.

“Got it,” Charlotte said.

She pushed up the brim of her cap and wandered into the main hall, looking casual. The Gilded Wheel was a man’s game. Women almost never came here. The ones who did were usually looking for trouble or looking to hook up.

So when Charlotte walked in, she got noticed. A woman like her, gorgeous and confident, instantly became the center of attention. One guy couldn’t help himself. He stepped right in front of her, staring, not even trying to hide it.

“Hey, beautiful, you here with someone? I’ll give you a million bucks for a kiss.”

Charlotte looked him up and down, her eyes cold. She smiled, slow and sharp.

“I’ll give you two million if you get down on your knees for me.”
