The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 981

“A bracelet?”

Anthony’s eyes darkened, his voice low. “Where is it?”

“The Isle of Veil.”

Anthony repeated, “The Isle of Veil?” His fingers curled tight, tension thickening the air around him.

Why would Lottie’s bracelet be on the Isle of Veil?

Hans nodded. “Yeah. I heard it was just bought off the black market. The person who has it... you’ve met her before, Anthony.”

“Who is it?” Anthony’s patience was running out, his brows drawn together.

Hans answered carefully, “Rena has it. She’s obsessed with the bracelet. We tried talking to her, but she won’t give it up.”

As he spoke, Hans sent Anthony a photo. The bracelet was beautiful—a line of deep red carnelian stones threaded through a thin platinum chain, glinting under the light. It looked exactly like the one Lottie lost.

“So what now, Anthony?” Hans asked quietly.

Rena had plenty of money and couldn’t be bribed or pressured. On top of that, she was holed up on the Isle of Veil. Getting the bracelet back from her would be nearly impossible.

Anthony didn’t hesitate. “Get ready. We’re flying to the Isle of Veil.”

Hans stared at him, stunned. Was Anthony really about to risk everything for a bracelet?

“Anthony, do you want to tell Charlotte about this?” Hans bit his lip, trying to sound casual.

“No,” Anthony’s answer was cool and final. “She leaves for Novaria tomorrow. Don’t let anything distract her.”

“...Got it.”

Hans didn’t dare say another word.

The next day after lunch, Charlotte was sitting cross-legged on the bed, chin in her hands, watching Anthony pack. She looked thoroughly entertained.

“Adonis dropped off your medicine. Two pills at a time, no more,” Anthony said, glancing over his shoulder. He caught her staring, lost in thought, and frowned slightly.

The plane touched down right at six in the evening.

Two cars were waiting outside the terminal.

Cedric, one of Newell’s men, stood by the door, face unreadable.

He saw Charlotte and straightened. “Nine.”

She nodded, barely glancing at him. “Where’s Newell?”

“At home.” Cedric opened the car door and gave a polite bow. “Please.”

“Okay. Let’s go.” Charlotte ducked into the back seat.

Adonis followed her in, sliding into the seat beside her.

Jackson, meanwhile, headed for the driver’s side. He locked eyes with Cedric and said flatly, “I’ll drive.”
