Isle of Veil?
Charlotte’s eyes narrowed as she stared at the tiny green dot blinking on her screen. She ran the trace again, just to be sure. Same result. Her system never got it wrong.
With a deep frown, she tapped her fingers quickly across the keyboard, locking in Hans’s location too. There it was... also on Isle of Veil.
“We’re not going back to Cabinda,” she said.
She closed out her system and pulled up the flight schedules. Her voice was cold and steady.
“What?” Jackson and Adonis both looked at her in surprise. “Charlotte, where are we going?”
“To Isle of Veil.” Her face had gone a little pale, but her tone was firm.
Anthony went back to Isle of Veil without telling her. That could only mean it had something to do with her. Going back now... it was dangerous.

At the same time, on Isle of Veil, at The Hawk Estate.
Rena sat at her vanity in a deep red dress, slowly putting on her lipstick. She didn’t rush, just watched her reflection and took her time.
“Is everyone in position?” she asked.
A bodyguard bowed his head respectfully. “Yes, Rena. We have people all around the restaurant. He won’t be able to get away when he shows up.”
“Good.” Rena set down her lipstick and ran her fingers through her soft, wavy hair. She adjusted her dress with a satisfied smile. “Remind everyone—don’t hurt him when you catch him. Especially not his face.”
“Yes, ma’am.” The bodyguard shot her one more glance before quietly leaving the room.
Just then, Marcia walked in. She was striking in a black suit, her hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail. There was something effortlessly cool about her.
She was reaching for her phone to call Anthony when Nora’s name lit up on her screen. Charlotte took a steadying breath and started walking toward the airport exit as she answered.
“Mom,” she said softly.
“Lottie.” Nora’s voice was gentle and full of warmth. “Did you have dinner yet?”
It was always seven in the evening in Cabinda when Nora called. Like clockwork.
“I did.” Charlotte lowered her eyes and smiled a little. “Remember to take your medicine on time, Mom. And don’t wear yourself out.”
“I’ve been good,” Nora replied, her voice thick with emotion. “Lottie, you...”
Before she could finish, a strange sound crackled through the phone. Nora’s ears were sharp and she picked up on it right away. It was the roar of an airplane, but not just any plane.
This one had a sound she recognized. The unique whine belonged to a plane from Isle of Veil’s airport. The island was surrounded by water, and the planes there were a little different. Their wingtips had special wind deflectors that made a piercing noise when they cut through the air. Nora remembered that sound from more than twenty years ago, the last time she’d visited Isle of Veil.
