The NO.1 Food Stall in the Wasteland novel Chapter 36

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: A Super All-Purpose Food Cart

Zeng Xiaodao wasn’t surprised by what Shen Lu said.

In fact, he found it perfectly normal.

"We can still be friends, right?" he asked.

Shen Lu thought about it seriously. "No problem."

Aside from the slight unpleasantness of their first meeting, they had been quite friendly with each other.

Shen Lu didn’t mind having one more friend.

"That’s good, then." Zeng Xiaodao smiled and waved his right hand without turning his head. "I’m off. Remember to lock the door."

"I know."

After Zeng Xiaodao left, Shen Lu immediately went and bolted the door.

She didn’t dare to be the least bit careless when it came to safety.

After feeding Fu Cheng, Shen Lu quickly tidied up the room.

Luckily, she had the privilege of a permanent 80% cleanliness level, which greatly reduced the difficulty of cleaning.

It was once again time for the happiest part of the day: tallying up her earnings.

Thanks to the two new ingredients, her daily income easily surpassed 3,000 Star Coins. Her popularity value had increased by over 200, and her total popularity value was about to break the 900 mark.

Shen Lu figured it would probably reach 900 by the time she woke up.

’Running a street stall really is profitable.’

She remembered her first day here; she had only sold half a bucket of mint water and earned a little over 400 Star Coins.

Now, her daily revenue was over 3,000. ’How times have changed.’

Shen Lu hummed happily as she used today’s Lottery Ticket.

[Congratulations, Host, you have drawn prize #211 from the blind box: one Super-Versatile Snack Cart.]

[Super-Versatile Snack Cart: How could you run a stall without a snack cart? Built from brand-new titanium alloy, it features six freely configurable modules, a one-cubic-meter refrigerated cabinet, an extendable one-square-meter countertop... For you, who dream of becoming a tycoon, this is a must-have!]

Shen Lu’s eyes lit up. ’A snack cart!’

’Just from the description, it sounds amazing and totally badass.’

She checked the snack cart’s size. It was about as large as the ones she’d seen on the roadside in her past life. But her rented apartment was too small; there was no extra space for it, so she could only store it in her temporary inventory for now.

Still, she could inspect it with her thoughts.

The snack cart came with its own canopy and sign. Shen Lu first filled the blank space on the sign with the words "Little Deer Cuisine" and hit the confirm button.

Then there were the six "freely configurable" modules mentioned in the description, which weren’t actually all that free. For example, the complimentary one-cubic-meter refrigerated cabinet counted as one module. It was fixed under the countertop, and you could only choose to place it on the left or the right, not move it on top.

The countertop was divided into four sections. The largest section had a selection button.

You could select a teppanyaki grill, a sausage roaster, or a deep fryer. After making a selection, the cart would provide the corresponding tools. Of course, you could also choose none of them, in which case it would just be a plain countertop.

The other three sections were empty and could be used to hold anything.

Shen Lu took out an apple and munched on it as she thought.

’Of course I have to choose something. One more product means I’ll be more competitive and can earn more popularity value.’

’But what should I choose?’

’If I want something easy, the sausage roaster is the top choice.’

’Just turn on the machine, put the starch sausages on, and it practically takes care of itself.’

The thought of those meatless starch sausages made Shen Lu’s mouth water. She had loved them since she was a child—the kind pan-fried to a crispy skin and sprinkled with chili powder. She could eat five in one go!

After finishing the apple, Shen Lu buried the core in the flowerpot as usual.

After quickly rinsing her mouth, Shen Lu gently pushed Fu Cheng further onto the bed and lay down beside him.

SIGH...

’Another day survived.’
