Yvonne's voice echoed from outside the office door.

"Jefferson, Claire, perfect timing, you're both here..."

The second she pushed the door open, Jefferson released his grip.

But the thick, suffocating tension still hung heavy in the air.

Yvonne's eyes zeroed in on the red mark on Claire's chin. She understood exactly what had just happened, yet her flawless smile never slipped.

"Jefferson, I wanted to run something by you."

"There is a luxury brand, OCHH Luxury. They have a new rising star collection that has dominated the design industry for years. I want to reach out and see if we can acquire them."

Claire stopped rubbing her sore wrist.
